Clomid experiences

After TTC again for almost 6 monthsl I went to the doctor and he confirmed what I was already thinking. I am not ovultating.

So he has put me on three meds- one will get my period to start again, then I when it starts I will take metformin which will get me ready to ovulate then three days after my period starts I will start Clomid for 5 days! I cannot believe I am going to be a clomid chick. It is so weird that with Maggie and Natalie I always knew when I was ovulating and got pregnant within two weeks of trying and now this time I have to use fertility treatments.

But I guess whatever gets me a baby right.

When AF starts I have to call and make an appt for three weeks later so they can check to see if I am ovulating and responing appropriately to the clomid. I am on the lowest dose of clomid hopefully that is all it will take.

I am just wondering what others experience were on clomid or clomid and metformin, what doe of clomid you took, and any other info you have. TIA

I took 2000mg of Glucophage XR (brand name of metformin...the extended release version) and 50mg of Clomid--and we did IUIs. The Glucophage gave me horrible gastrointestinal problems--I was literally running to the bathroom for months on end. Yuck. Luckily those issues calmed down once I was PG--I stayed on the Gluc for my whole pregnancy.

The Clomid gave me no side effects and worked really well in combo with the Gluc.

I had PMS times 10 on the clomid! That was my only side effect. I was either a nasty bitch or on the verge of tears. With the met, which I am on now, when you have to go to the bathroom you need to go RIGHT NOW.

I was on clomid alone. 50mg first round (Oed late) and 100mg the second time (Oed even later, but got PG anyway). I had no side effects other than some hot flashes.

I didn't notice any major side effects when I took Clomid. Some bitchy spells (like once I told Kevin to f**k off and then cried because I'd been so mean to him

), but not an all-the-time thing. I never had any headaches or hot flashes. I made sure to drink lots and lots and lots of water - someone told me that would help minimize symptoms, and apparently it did help for me. I took 50 mg of Clomid for 2 cycles, and 75 mg of Clomid for one cycle - did IUI with the 75 mg, it worked, and Julian is the result!

yes, I agree with the water. I was feeling dehydrated a bit on it too. I had forgotten about that!

Ahhh yes.... water... I remember having dreams that I was a fish

Kaitlyn was conceived on my 3rd round of Provera/Clomid. I used Provera the first 2 cycles to bring on AF --- I needed to kick start AF to start my first round of Clomid @ 50mg... I didnt ovulate that cycle - so I used Provera again... then the clomid @ 100mg - and I ovulated, but I was sick at the time, and didnt BD at the right time

--- I had AF on my own... then did another round of Clomid @ 100mg and conceived Kaitlyn.

The provera was worse for me than the Clomid. I remember hot flashes, slight moodieness and the fishie dreams... but the Provera was worse --- I thought I was going to split in 2 from the AF cramps, it was heavier than imaginable and I felt faint and nauseated too. Almost like being in labor
