HELP! Sleep issues at 18 months!
Tyler has been sleeping through the night and going to bed on his own since he was 10 months old. It has been awesome. We have a routine that we stick too and it works great. However lately, night time has been HELL! He screams and screams until we give in and go and get him (I know that that is part of the problem) I just can't let him scream all night. I know nothing hurts, he isn't hungry, etc... He just wants to be up and out of the crib. He screams , "no mama" and it breaks my heart! Naps are great. He goes down between 1-2pm with no problems and sleeps about 2 hrs. I just can't figure out the new bedtime problem. Nothing has changed at home, etc.. I just don't know and I am so frustrated! Anyone have any ideas, thoughts, suggestions? Could he be ready to get out of the crib and try a big boy bed? I am reaching here......... TIA

Yep, I think you hit the nail on the head. Try him in a big boy bed. That's when the screaming stopped at our house!

Tara,
I was having some trouble with Sam as well. He's just not an all-night sleeper anyway, but we're up 3-4 times per night with him. Finally, we switched him to a twin bed - more room to move around and a springier mattress. His crib mattress is foam. I was starting to wonder if it just wasn't comfortable for him anymore - plus, he's tall so he had limited space. |

Abby was already in a big bead by 18 months but she still ran in to sleep issues at that age and she had been sleeping through the night since she was 6 weeks old. Whatever you do try to deal with them now and not let them linger. For a variety of reasons I didnt really address her issues then and so now a year later she still wakes up and comes into our bed in the middle of the night....and we have just gotten her back into her bed at all.

I was thinking it could be teething too!? Sometimes night time is the worse for them.

I'm gonna agree with Ashley..does he have his 2 year molars yet? Trey was SUCH a good sleeper, but ever since he started cutting those, nights are awful. We never have to go in and get him, but he does wake up a few times during the night, but falls back to sleep in a few minutes.

Oh Chris don't mean to scare you, but those molars were 10 times easier then the canines (eye teeth)!!!

Trey already has his eye teeth...all he has left is the 2 year molars, they've been giving him problems for the past 2 months |

Its ok..I figured you misread my post...Yeah, Trey got his 1 year molars pretty early..he's got everything in but his 2 years molars and whatever comes after that...his front bottom eye teeth just popped through the surface this week..they're really slow |
