Need meat ideas
I am wondering what you feed your toddlers for meats? We have a very small list that Sam likes and I am dead on creativity. Any ideas?
Likes: BBQ Ribs Hot dogs (don't like to feed those too often though) Hamburger meat wiht sauce, on occasion (picky about burger meat) Pork (marinated and grilled of course) Fish sticks (I think they are gross though) Dislikes: Chicken Tuna Canned chicken I can't think of anything else! Steaks seem too chewy, and in fact, I refuse to feed him beef with any kind of pink since a coworkers nephew got e-coli and almost died last year from an undercooked burger. It was awful. We normally eat our meat medium-well or it gets too tough, but we can cook something special for Sam. So, does anyone have ideas or recipes? |

tony won't eat any red meat
but that's ok with me since i don't either.i give him turkey sausage which he loves, and turkey ham (we call it 'hurkey' ).i also give him turkey hot dogs (ballpark are really good, fat free and low calorie) or fat free oscar meyer hot dogs. i don't push the meat if he won't eat it, he gets protein from other sources too. |

Have you tried the Gerber Graduates Meat Sticks, Turkey Sticks and Chicken Sticks?
My daughter loves 'em! ![]() She also likes any kind of grilled fish. We make Salmon, Flounder, Bass, Orange Roughy, etc. I usually lightly season and then top with bread crumbs. |

Ummm, cheese?
![]() I'm pretty sure that wasn't the answer you were looking for, Kelli. Ben is pretty picky with meat (unless he's mooching it off of us )He will almost always eat chicken nuggets. Most of the time, he eats meatloaf. Other than that, it's mostly a guessing game. Most of the time, the meat is the first thing to hit the floor Oh yeah, he'll eat meat when it's in chicken stew (gerber) or the like. |

Are you looking for meat specifically or just protein-rich stuff?
Meat ideas: fresh fish (all sorts of filet types of fish other than tuna - just be careful to pick out the bones, of course) Turkey Roast Beef (cooked long enough to be tender) Dairy alternatives: eggs milk yogurt cheese Veggie alternatives: tofu tempeh seitan beans of all kinds legumes nuts or nut butters |

Just here looking for ideas as well!! Emily primarily eats dairy products and fruits...she has eaten a few bites of a plain McD's hamburger, one Chik Fil A chicken nugget, and some bites of a hot dog. Beyond that, she just licks it and throws it on the floor!! sigh. I guess this is normal for a 17 month old, and I just keep offering.....

Jackson doesn't really like meat either (except for chicken nuggets
), so I usually try to find other ways to replace the protein:Boca burgers (he likes these a lot) Garden burgers Garden burger meatless meatballs (these are actually pretty good - they're soy) Peanut butter Beans (he LOVES garbanzo beans and black beans) Yogurt Cheese (but he'll only eat it if it's melted into stuff - it's a no go if it's solid )

Have you tried making meatballs? Maybe if you make them with some shredded veggies or breadcrumbs and an egg mixed in, the texture and taste would be different enough that he would try it. Ali isn't a big eater at all, so I am constantly trying to find ways to get her to eat.

Jason LOVES sloppy joes... He has to have it on a bun, but then he picks the meat out of the bun.
He also likes soft tacos... again, he'll pick the meat out of the tortilla, but it's got to be inside the tortilla for him to eat it. |

Kaitlyn likes meat and eats most of it, but if I were trying to hide it then maybe the meatballs would work.
Also, what about mixing meat with beans or something so it doesn't stand out as much? Kaitlyn had pot roast last night and loved it. It was nice and tender and had a little gravy on it. |
