Some teething questions....

How many teeth do babies get before their permanent teeth come in? Right now DS has 7 teeth - 4 on top, 3 on bottom. He's going to be one in 2 weeks. Will be in teething hell for the next year?

Also, a friend of mine has a 10 month DD with no teeth. She's been gnawing on everything on the sides of her mouth, so my friend suspects maybe her molars are coming in first. She thought she had read somewhere that getting molars first might signify future dental problems.

Any thoughts on this?

20 teeth... you probably have a good year to go. Sorry! Matthew was an early teether and he just got finished last month (just after he turned 2).

It's not incredibly uncommon for teeth to come in a different order than normal. I'm not sure about that signifying dental problems though She may get a bunch of teeth in all at once though.
