I don't know if this is okay here or if it goes in the food section..
Aiden is 11 months old and right now, if it isn't yogurt, he doesn't seem to want to eat it. Even his favorite Oatmeal, he doesn't want that either. I make sure he gets plenty of milk (he's been on whole milk since 9 months) but I'm really concerned because he just doesn't seem to interested in eating. Now, if you give him yogurt, he will eat it until he is full, but anything else... forget it. We've tried all the favorites and nothing is working. Is this a phase that they go through? He isn't teething... or atleast he isn't showing the normal signs of teething, and he has 8 teeth, so I have a good idea as to what his teething symptoms are. But I'm concerned he isn't getting enough vitamins/minerals due to his finnicky eating. Help! Mandy |

I'm no pediatrician, but having gone through the same thing, as did my neighbor who did speak with her pedi. about it, I'd suggest just give him what he does want to eat, let him have his fill and don't worry about it.
My nieghbor and I both have 11 month olds. Hers was doing the same thing. The pedi. said that over the course of a few weeks he'll eat different things and get all the various nutrients he needs, so don't get too hung up on a few days of just eating one thing. I know it's hard, but you surely can't FORCE him to eat, yanno? Just offer him a bunch of stuff, let him eat what he eats, and let it be. |

Susan's right. No kid will starve themselves! My pediatrician had a slightly different take, though - give them one thing you know they will eat, and one other thing (a few crackers, some fruit, whatever). Eventually they'll get used to seeing the other thing there, and slip some in!
Then expand from there.
