Kids Bedding?

Now that we have finally purchased Caroline's "big girl bed", the next project is bedding. I'm interested to see where anyone has found nice patterns or styles or BARGAINS! We're trying to avoid character or cartoony sets, and would like something girlish. Any links or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Anne, if Katie was in a twin bed, I'd get her some of the ultra-girly Shabby Chic line at Target. We have it for our guest bedroom, and the sheets are high quality (250 tc), super-soft and very feminine, without being childish. Plus, they have lots of coordinating patterns, so you can mix things up if you want to. I love it. I looked high and low for something similar for a toddler bed, and the only thing I found was PBK (which is $$$), so we have that for Katie, but I can't wait until she gets into a twin and I can get her some of the Shabby Chic stuff.

I guess it depends on how long you want it to last, etc. Since Morgan has a double/full bed I figured she'd be in it for a while and we got her PBK bedding that was not very little girl.

Before that, right when she got the bed, we bought sheets from Target that are just like the ones on the picture of the bed that Brooke showed.

We did Avery's "big girl room" in a fairy princess theme. The bedding set is by "That's Mine or Kids Expressions." I originally found the bedding on Ebay, but after researching, I also found that TJ Maxx, Marshall's and Homegoods sell this bedding line too.

Here is a link to what Avery's room is in:

Their stuff is comparable to PB Kids but the price is way less expensive.

I did a search on Ebay for you....

Is Caroline still into ballet? They have a cute pattern called "ballet lesson."

Here's a link to all of the patterns on Ebay right now, some of them are darn cute:

Just so you know, at TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Homegoods, the prices run as follows: (to compare)

twin quilt: $39.99
sham: $14.99
deco pillow: $14.99
valance: $12.99
curtain panels $19.99
twin sheet set: $34.99

I just saw some cute stuff at Kohl's. I don't have any pics but it was very similar to the Target pics. So cute! Of course, Pottery barn kids has great stuff, but also a lot of $$!!

Colleen, you are the QUEEN!!!! I love that stuff, but have been horrified by the prices some Ebay sellers are asking. ($89 just for the quilt? Don't think so!) So I'm happy to know that there are other places that sell it.

Anne and Sarah, I totally forgot about the Shabby Chic stuff at Target, that is really pretty, I will definitely check it out.

Cortney, I want it to last for a while, but simply don't have the $$$ to spend on PBK stuff.

Nicki, thanks - I love Kohls and there is one not too far away, so I will definitely check it out. That's where we got our bedding!

Brooke, that's really cute! We're not going to go wild with stuff yet, I figure two sets of sheets and the bedding will be plenty for a bit, until we have to buy warmer stuff (down quilt, flannel sheets, etc., for the winter).

Thanks for all the ideas, friends. You've given me great jumping-off points and shopping excuses until the bed comes!

i found the 'fairy princess' valances and pillow sham at tjmaxx today! they did not have the quilt but they did have other girly quilts from the same manufacturer, the flower theme and the ballet theme. (also a boy set, firetrucks i think)
poking around i found pillows, valances and one sheet set for the various sets.

even if i never find the quilt i am using the valances for my nursery. my first new baby purchase!

thanks again colleen for the heads up!
