Poop Issues

Ava's poop has been really dark green and runny. It used to be yellow and kind of seedy. She's only been going every 2 or 3 days too and she screams like it really hurts when she goes. Does anyone have an idea what, if anything, could be wrong?

I'm taking her in on Tuesday.

normal. If she was constipated she would have hard stools. It is typical for poop to change day to day and a bf baby can go up to 2 weeks with out a poop.

It's been dark green like that for about a week and a half though and she does get about 1/2 of her food from formula a day. I'm wondering if the formula doesn't agree with her.

well poop changes color too by a day to day basis depending on what you eat and formula does change it as well.

When I eat asparagus Adam's poop is really green.

Ok! I'm not too worried about it. it just freaked me out that she screamed so much when she went. (and I don't like asparagus! )

Two things come to mind:

Elliott's poop turned a putrid army green when we started giving him 2 bottles of formula/day. I remember that the same happened w/ Aidan.

Aidan's BF poop was like that when he was getting too much foremilk & not enough hindmilk.

I would guess its the formula, though. Once you add that, the seedy mustardy poos usually disappear. As for the screaming....I dont know. Maybe she has gas on top of it? As Kris said, its not constipation.

Thanks karri. I have a feeling it's the formula. It got like this when we switched from Enfamil Lipil to Similac Advance.

This happened to us when I switched Kyle's formula. He was also very gassy from the old formula and even had to go to the concentrate instead of the powder to stop the screaming.
