Re-occurring Yeast Infections...help please!
Has anyone had experience with this?
Teagan has had yeast infections on and off since she was born...I think she had her first one by the time she was 2-3 weeks old, believe it or not. Since then, we've had them checked by our doctor occasionally, but because Rory had them as well (not as frequently though), we've always had cream in the house to treat them (I know, you shouldn't share the cream, but they were exactly the same, still not great, I know ), so our doctor doesn't really know how often Teagan has had them. She had one about 2 weeks ago, and has yet another one now. We have no more cream, so I bought some OTC y/i cream until I can get an appointment for her on Monday. It doesn't seem to be bothering her, but it just won't go away and STAY away. I'm getting frustrated, as I'm sure she has. I've never had to deal with it personally, so don't know if there's something I can be doing to prevent it. Does anyone have any suggestions/thoughts/help at all?!?! We use Pampers Cruisers, and she's changed fairly frequently throughout the day as well. Thanks!

Have you tried cloth diapering her? I know you were either thinking of it or doing it with Rory?
Poor baby!

Paige has a yi now so I know how bad your feeling but no there is nothing that you can/could do to prevent it, this is what I was told because I too was feeling so guilty about it, I let it go for a week thinking it would get better and just never did
have you ever thought of going to see a dermatologist about them? maybe they would be able to help figure out why they are so frequent![]() I hope it clears up soon ![]()

Lisa, thanks. I'm sorry that Paige has one now too. They aren't fun. I'm going to call her doctor today/tomorrow, and see what she has to say. Thanks guys! ![]()

Alyssa has never had one but my cousin has had them all her life. She is almost 6. She just has a cream that the Dr prescribed and she just keeps dealing with it. Like Lisa said..there is nothing you can do to prevent it and you just have to keep battling it. Have you thought of trying a different brand of diapers

Oh Jenn...
I'm dealing with this too, but with a BOY! At least the ped thinks it's a yeast infection. We tried Lotrimen AF at his request and then we called back because it just wasn't going away. We got one of the other peds and she said to try Neosporin. That worked like a champ! But it still comes back occasionally. I want to know how a boy can get a yeast infection. ![]() |

I found that Joshua got one if I switched bubble bath or if I added anything other then J&J bath stuff to the water. Joshua was afraid to have a bath for some reason so I bought little tablets that turn the water different colors and of course it got him into the bath BUT he also got an infection from them
:. My mom said that I would ALWAYS break out and get a y/i if she used mr.bubble or avon bath stuff .I swear the companies don't tell you EVERYTHING that is in their products .

My cousin (a girl) had recurring UTIs from taking baths. They had to start giving her showers when she was 1 year old. And she can't drink anything really acidic like orange juice.
I know it's not the same but stopping tub baths solved most of their problem. |
