When did you move Baby from Infant car seat to convertable car seat?

I was wondering when you move them to a convertable car seat. My daughter is almost 6 months old and even though she is tiny (only 13 lbs), I am thinking or starting to research convertable car seats. We don't carry her around in her carrier that much since we put her in the Baby Bjorn or stoller when we take her out of the car. We just use the carrier to bring her into the house.

When did you stop using the carrier?
Thanks

Brendan was 18LBS maybe 20 when we moved him (he can still fit in ours both weight and height its up to 35lbs and 35 inches) which was when he was 8months or so, We moved him out because it was getting so heavy and figured it was easier to have a convertable so were not temped to take it out.

We moved Ian when he outgrew the height restriction for our infant carseat. I think it was 27 or 28 inches. He was about 4 or 5 months old then.

It is safest to keep them in the infant carrier for as long as possible, we moved Ema when she was 19 lbs.

We actually planned to keep Janelle in her infant seat till she outgrew it, but like your dd she is tiny (16lbs 5ounces at 16 months old), and since I'm having a baby in March and she doesn't show any signs of outgrowing the infant seat before then we switched her over Christmas so that she has a few months in her convertible seat (roundabout in my car, probably a marathon for dh's...but we hate the pattern the il's bought for us and also have an alpha omega in the garage so we might go with that one) before he came so she didn't think he was stealing her seat.

So I guess the answer is that we stopped using the infant carrier at 16 months.

We moved Emily at 6 months. She was within 1 inch of outgrowing the length, and even though she only weighed 15 pounds, it was getting HEAVY to lug everywhere. She'll be 1 on the 23rd and I bet is just now creeping up on 20 pounds...we won't turn her convertible seat around until March 1 or so.

Both Victoria and Alex were switched over at about 6-7 months after they exceed the height limit for the carrier (Alex may have stayed in it until 8 months since he was smaller than Victoria).

DD's infant car seat (Graco Snugride) has a weight limitation of 20lbs. and a height limitation of 26". DD is currently 25.5" and 17 lbs. at 5 months, so we're getting ready to switch her over to her "Big girl" carseat.

Tess is a shorty. So we moved her when we turned her at 12 months and 20lbs.

We just moved Emily into hers over the weekend - she was 2 days shy of 7 months. She weighs about 17 pounds but she's long - about 28 inches.

We first moved him at 4 months as he was about 26 inches and he hated it so we put him back in the graco infant carrier for about another month till he was 27 inches and he has been in it since. We have a roundabout too.

Micayla I think we moved at around 4 1/2 months. Melayna is almost 6 months and I don't see us moving her out anytime soon. But she's alot smaller than her big sister was.

We moved Dylan at around 4-5 months. He hated his carrier seat.
