David usually takes the kids to movies and I stay home and listen to the quiet

Last weekend he took Riley to see Mirror Mirror and they loved it. However, he said he was glad he didn't take Owen because it's very much a "tween" type movie.

This weekend he took Owen to see The Lorax. He said "it's very preachy save the world from the bad humans ala Wall*E". Owen was bored. That surprised me. I thought they'd love it.

We loved the Lorax - it is surprisingly political considering it's Dr. Seuss, but I don't think in a heavy-handed way.

The Lorax is definitely a movie for tree huggers and we enjoyed it. Er, the kids did. I enjoyed a short nap during it (leaning up against my friend with whom we attended the movie. She napped too. Great chaperones, huh?).

I rented the Descendents. It was just OK. I didn't get what all the hype was about as far as the girl who played George Clooney's daughter. And the ending was just "eh" to me.

I snoozed a little too Matthew refused to go because "it's a baby movie", but Sara really enjoyed it. As soon as we got out of the theater she wanted to know if we could buy it on DVD

We went to see The Lucky One Sunday. I didn't think it was bad, but I heard it's getting bad reviews

I watched The Bounty Hunter and Boy in the Striped Pyjamas on Netflix. They were good. The ending was crazy on Striped Pyjamas.

My kids are dying to see The Lorax. (and wall-e is one of their faves).

Recently, we watched Ghostbusters 1and 2 with the kids and then we watched The Descendants. Which I loved.

We had a rare date night last night and saw American Reunion. It was hilarious and made us realize how much we can relate to some of the characters.

We watched the Descendants last weekend. I thought it was very good, and thought the older daughter did a great job. (side note- did you know that movie was co-written by the guy that plays the crazy bald guy who is the head of Greendale U on Community?!)

Last night we watched Martha Marcy Mae Marlene (I think I got that right), which was excellent but disturbing, too. Elizabeth Olsen was really good in it.

Kelley, did he also take Brendan? What did he think? I'm on the fence about taking Ian since it's a PG13 movie but I know some people that have taken their 7 yr olds to it and said it was okay.

Brendan didn't seemed to be phased. I didn't really check it out before they went, but B said it was "awesome!"

I watched "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" the other night. I did end up likely it but it was so slow to get into. Half way though I ended up really liking it. Glad I didn't give up on that. I also watched "The Help" last night. THis was my second time seeing it it and I still loved it.
