Medical transcription?

Is anyone out there a medical transcriptionist? How did you get started? I think this is something I'd be really good at, and it's something I could do from home (would be GREAT for when Julian is school-age) and make decent money at once I get established. But pretty much everything I've seen leads me to believe you need at least a certificate for medical transcription. I'd love to hear others' thoughts and experiences!

Medical transcription is a good field to get into. I'm a court reporting student, and it takes much less time to get through the training for medical transcription than court reporting. (If I hadn't already put in 2 years, I'd switch!) You definitely need training, but you may be able to find some home-based training. Good luck!
