My niece, Lindsey, was born 6 weeks early. BTW, she is so beautiful and I am so proud of her! :)

Thankfully, her lungs were fully developed and she was breathing on her own from the beginning. She did not have to go to the NICU, but is in a Level II nursery (??). They are expecting her to stay in the hospital for at least 2 weeks. Are there any good books that I can recommend to my SIL about what to expect/caring for a preemie? TIA!

Sounds like Lindsey is doing wonderful! That is so great and I'm so happy!!

Troy was born 3mths early and stayed in NICU for 4wks and also did another 4wks in Level II. At that time I couldn't find any books about preemies. Sorry I'm no help.
All I was ever told was, to take care of them (preemies) as you would any other baby. Doesn't sound like she's having any medical problems because she was born early...? At 6wks early, I'm sure Lindsey will catch up real fast!

Keep us posted.

Janelle was about 4-6 weeks early and it really was no different, she still reached all of her milestones "on time" and everything.
