I'm wanting to cloth diaper, but I don't know how much to spend per diaper. Where have you found the best price on diapers (I'm looking into countor and AIO mostly), and how much did you spend on each?

TIA,
~Michelle

It all depends on where you get them and what the quality or how hard they are to get. If you want to go the most inexpensive way then prefolds and PUL covers are the way to go.
www.naturalbabies.com is a great place to shop because she price matches so you know you are getting the best deal. She has fitteds, prefolds, covers, wool, AIO's (bumkins).

But if you want to support some local work at home moms then there are a ton of them out there with really great products! www.diaperpin.com was a lifesaver to me when I first started. You can see reviews for all of the products out there and see where different diapers are available. Of course AIO's are more expensive but you don't have to buy anything else, it's a diaper and a cover all in one. Easy for dads too.

www.verybaby.com has awesome AIO's
www.mypreciousbabybyapril.com - she has some nice AIO's that I've heard alot of people like.
www.angelwraps.com - also very nice AIO's
www.sugarbums.com

There are a ton more but I don't want to overwhelm you. Have fun, cloth diapering is awesome!

It TOTALLY depends what your looking for. Price ranges vary SOO much! :)

I like to support the small WAHMs instead of the 'bigger' companies.

And until you are comfortable with pricing, be wary of eBay so that you don't overpay for your diapers.

AIO's are a little more expensive because you don't need to buy anything else (ie. covers, etc).

Ask any questions, we are here to answer them for you!

I bought Fuzzi Bunz and paid around $14 per diaper I suppose. Then another $4 or so for the hemparoo liner. I think FBs are some of the most expensive ones out there, though, but worth it. My next baby will use them too!

Fuzzi Bunz and Wonderoos are now both the same "suggested" retail at $14.95 plus inserts. Watch for free shipping and the like - many stores will match pricing and shipping where possible so if you find a good store you like and most of the items you want at one place, that's always a good place to start.

Michelle, you'll just have to look around and get a good feel for pricing. Jennie had some good advice about holding off on ebay until you're a bit more seasoned. Can you borrow some dipes to see what you like?

Jennie, when did you branch off into the new site?!

Jennie, when did you branch off into the new site?!
Just opened August 1st actually. I had so much stuff at the store that it was hard to find items and I didn't like that I couldn't get the cart to properly add up taxes, have a Cdn$ and US$ cart, etc. When I found the domain name was free, I was :rahrah:

Thanks so much for all your advice ladies! I guess my biggest problem is there seems to be so many sites out there, and each type of diaper has a different price to it. I guess I just really need to start tracking and figuring out what I want to do. I am *thinking* of trying to make some diapers myself, but I'm having a hard time figuring out what cloth to use as the insert (and I have read so many conflicting views on using fleece as the outer layer). It can be so overwhelming to newbies, and it doesn't help that everyone I talk to IRL about cloth diapering has something negative to say about it. At least my Jellybean will be in pretty diapes. :)

Jennie, I've looked at your new site, and you'll be having me as a customer at some point! :) Although, I thought on your other site you had gently used diapers for sale. Are you not doing that on the new site, or is it still at the old site? Or does anyone have any good places for getting used diapers at.

Like I said before, you all are awesome. Thank you for all of your advice.
