I just called Rebekah's daycare to see when they stop taking naps there and the answer was "They don't."

Apparently the state requires that all the kids in regulated daycares, all the way up through kindergarten (they are an accredited kindergarten) have a 3-hr rest period during the day. THey don't have to sleep but they have to have that 3 hr rest period.

Are all daycares like that?

Troy's nap time at day care (juniour room) is from 12 noon until 2pm. The toddler room has nap time from 11:30 until 2pm.

Our day care starts lunch at 11 and then at 12, they turn off the lights until 2:00. That is naptime/rest time for all ages, even the elementary school kids, but usually they just lay down and watch a movie or go on a field trip then.

 where Matthew went to daycare, all the kids took naps (they went up to kindergarten).

I taught at a school that was preschool (3 and potty trained) through kindergarten. Kindergarten had a rest period (not sure how long, less than an hour I believe) and the younger kids napped from 12:30ish until 2.

Alex naps from 12:30 to 3:30. Some days he's falling asleep in his lunch. At home on weekends, lunch is early and he typically goes down by 11:30 and sleeps til 1:30 or 2:00.I hope he will continue to nap through kindergarten. My kid needs it.

I'm pretty sure our daycare has naptime or rest time. 12:30 to 3 PM and that goes up to pre-K kids.
