I am also looking for ideas for our first family vacation of 2004! KimC January 4th, 2004, 02:48 PM Our best vacation (besides our honeymoon) was our trip to Disney World in December 1999! We had a blast and hit all the parks, saw some really cool shows and did a lot of shopping. We can't wait to go back when Ben's older. Waz January 5th, 2004, 12:07 AM For a Party Time in my early 20's I took a GREAT trip with my best girlfriends to Puerto Vallarta........ Great fun.... but I don't think it would be my thing now. Most Romatic......was probably my honeymoon in Sonoma, CA (Wine Country). We spent the bulk of our time in wine country (both Sonoma and Napa)..... it's very leisurly and beautiful surroundings.........and San Francisco is only an hour South if you need more excitement. Most Fun All Around ....... New York City. One of my best friends lives there so I've gone to visit her twice. You just can't beat the food, the theater, the museums, the shopping, the landmarks etc..... it's just got EVERYTHING. But again..... that was Pre baby..... I'm not sure I'd go there on a family vacation until Chloe is much older And several places in the upper East Coast I really love............. Cape Cod, MA...... Thousand Islands NY..........Kingston, Ontario (Canada.... just over the border from NY). I love that you can drive through 3 States up there in 5 hours! That's SOOOO different from driving in the Western US, where I barely make it out of CO in that time! LOL Chris Wendy January 5th, 2004, 08:46 PM Key West, FL. We stayed at Sunset Keys (Hilton's island off of Key West) and it was sooo beautiful! What a wonderful time :) Tracy January 5th, 2004, 11:45 PM My best trip was a surprise trip to NYC and a stay in a suite atthe Plaze (somehting I wanted to do since I was a kid) But, the one that has been the alltime most fun was a trip to a state park with the kids..we rented cabins (had to be able to have that coffee in the morning) as much as we want to be, we are NOT outdoorsy types..Within 30 min of being there DH and I decide to climb a boulder and I land flat on my back (hurt for days but wouldn't admit it) Took us well into the second day to have a decent fire (for roasting marshmellows), DH about put his eye out by getting too close to the 8 foot log he had in the fire because he didn't dare let it go out..The girls learned to play a mean game of poker..DH came nose to nose (ok 6 feet) with a black bear om his way back from the john (closest I have ever been to one..it was HUGE) The boys booked out early (wimps) but the rest of us had a ball!! Lissa January 6th, 2004, 01:02 AM I have two favorite vacations. One was our honeymoon --- an Alaskan cruise. Absolutely amazing. We went white water rafting, sea kayaking, whale watching and salmon baking. It was a great nature trip with breathtaking scenery. We plan on going again when our kids are 10/12ish. The 2nd is our trip to Disney World. Totally different than Alaska but magically nonetheless. :) Sarah D January 7th, 2004, 05:15 PM Europe, hands down! Spain & Italy...but that is kind of hard for a family vacation. Family vacation spot: New York or Las Vegas Rav77 January 8th, 2004, 08:54 AM My best vacation was to Maui and Kauai for our anniversary. However for kids I can imagine that Disney World in the "off season" would be a blast. sheila January 15th, 2004, 07:14 PM OUr honeymoon would have to be my all time favorite... but for a regular vacation, I would go with our 1st anniversary trip to Key West. Leslie January 15th, 2004, 08:25 PM The Cayman Islands after I graduated college. It was so amazing and beautiful there. It's funny because I fell on some rocks there and had to get stitches in my knee, but it was still a great trip! Luckily the stitches were on the last day! catalina January 15th, 2004, 08:46 PM My trip to Europe with my mom & dad in '97. We visited Spain, France, England and Belgium. Unforgettable! |
