I'm getting somewhat concerned that our baby spits up too much. :puke: I know some spitting up is very normal but yesterday and today Joshua spit up about 10 times! [Not vomiting, just spit up.]

My DH also said that he hears Joshua passing gas i.e. farting! early in the evening when he's sleeping. We're wondering if he's got gas/upset tummy based on these two things. I can't think of anything that I'm eating consistently that might hurt his tummy though.

Any thoughts?

he may just be a spitter. My first was and as long as they are gaining weight no need to worry.

If your BF try cutting out gassy foods like broccoli and dairy may elp the gas.

My pedi said that the farting is normal...its when they can't pass the gas and are screaming to do so, that you need to relieve their pain. Mylicon drops work well.
And yep...as long as they are gaining, there is no reason to be concerned about spitting up.

My son is a spitter, too! He spits up constantly. The ped said as long as he's gaining weight and is not troubled by the spit up (seeming like he's in pain), it's nothing to really worry about. I find dish towels work best as spit rags.

My son was a spitter as well. It got better once he was on solids. Before I started solids I increased his formula but that made the spitting worse.
It bothered us more than him I think.

I have the world's biggest spitter - 40 or 50 spits a day at the peak of it - and we just went with it as long as she didn't seem to be in any pain. Boy, is it messy though!
