I'm considering going back to college to get a degree in communications. The school here offers either a BA or an MA, and I can also get a certificate in Public Relations, which I want to do. I'm not sure if it would be more beneficial to get a second BA with a minor in marketing and the PR Certificate or my MA in Communications with the PR Certificate?
Here's my delimma - job opportunities? Are they available? I really want to work in marketing or marketing/public relations.
I have my BA in Law, Politics and Society and a Paralegal Certificate. I'm currently a paralegal and really don't care for it at all. I do plan on staying in this field until I either decide to go back to school or I find another job. However, I'm just a little frustrated right now - I've thought about Law School as well as Social Work. I think I would love social work, however, after looking into and doing some volunteer work, it tears at my heart, and honestly, I'm not sure I could do that FT as a career. I want to help people and not get burned out and quit. I'm beginning to think it might be better to just volunteer my time PT and work in another field FT - does that make any sense?
So, I'm back to facing the ultimate question of what do I want to do. I've thought about PR/Communications and marketing a lot throughout college, even almost declared my major in marketing.
