I'm thinking of getting a Halo Sleep sack. Right now I have some blanket sleepers as well as Carter's Sleep sacks, and I'm thinking of adding a Halo to the mix for my 6 month old.

Any experience with the Halo? Is it warmer than the carters? How do you dress your baby at night?

i'm in MA as well. i have always just put tony in blanket sleepers in winter. i keep the heat around 70 and he seems fine, he always kicks his blankets off.

i do use the heavier blanket sleepers if i can (ll. bean, oshkosh) although i have a few walmart ones as well. he's never woken up due to cold.

Caroline hasn't woken up due to the cold, but it's something I'm always worried about - I don't know if her room isn't insulated properly or something, but its always a good number of degrees cooler than the rest of the house! So she is dressed warmly pajama-wise (blanket sleepers or regular pajamas with onesie and socks, etc.) and I check on her before I go to bed and recover her. One of these days they'll stop flinging around and keep blankets on, I HOPE! :lol:

70 degrees? Yikes. I should note that I would like to keep the house about 63 at night, but bump it to 65 for Josiah. Any warmer than that and DH and I would roast!

We're the same way :lol: Our heat never goes higher than 68 unless its blizzarding outside :lol:

I had a few of the halo sleepsacks. They worked well when he was immobile, but when he started wanting to get up on all fours, he would scream and cry...

I've always used Carters sleepers and haven't had any problems with him being cold, and his room is one of the cooler ones in the house. Sometimes I put a onesie and socks on under the sleeper, but he's usually pretty warm to begin with

We have some sleepsacks but our house is so well insulated that it's really warm, even kept at 68, so Bran just sleeps in his pj's and he's warm. :)

hhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmm... well i just bought 2 halos on baby center. haven't received them yet.

We used the Halos with Aidan and loved them. We'd put them over the blanket sleepers. At that time, we kept our house at 65 at night. Now that we have preemies, we have to keep the hosue a tad warmer.

We used a halo sleep sack, with a blanket sleeper on underneath. It was awesome, but we had to stop using it when he got mobile.

Now (15-months), he wears blanket sleepers with a t-shirt on underneath, or flannel pjs with socks and slippers on. We put a blanket on him for part of the night.

our house is 65 at night, which is warm for DH and me --we kept it at 62 at night before DS was born.

DH likes to keep the house on the cool side while we're sleeping, and I'm always concerned about Amelia being too cold. She won't keep a blanket on her (and I'm still so worried about using one).. so I put a onesie and a pair of socks on underneath her footed PJs. She seems ok and sleeps through the night just fine.

I see that they sell something very similar to the Halo sleepsack at Walmart now...and they are much cheaper (only 8.64 or something like that)

I finally found some "long johns" for babies at Target. I dress him in those and then put a blanket sleeper on top!

When Emily was tiny, we used the Carter's sleep sacks with a onesie and socks underneath (she was born in January 2003 and it was COLD then!), plus she was swaddled. This fall, I switched to Carter's footed jammies, and she loves them. I tried the sleep sack when it started getting colder, thinking I could layer socks or something underneath, but with her being mobile they just don't work out.

We keep our house at 65 during the night...her bedroom is the warmest and ours is the coldest (it's not insulated AT ALL), so that seemed the best compromise. She sleeps in a onesie and fleece PJs with a fleece blanket over her...but it's usually off by midnight or so.
