Cord question

Are there any concertns with using cloth diapers before their cord falls off? Just wondering, since I know nothing about cding.

We used newborn proraps and prefolds and never had a problem. She was in cloth diapers about 48 hours after birth as soon as the merconium was gone.

You can get newborn covers/diapers with a notch for the umbilical cord, but apparantly a lot of people don't bother. Ethan was in size 1 diapers with no notch when he left the hospital so I just turned the front of the diaper down as not to irritate it, so I will probably do the same with cloth. I read something concerning this, but I can't remember (I'll post if I do :) ).

Thanks - I wasn't too worried with Carter either, so I guess I won't worry too much about this one either.
