Nail biting!

Anyone have any sure-cures for nail biting? My 9 year old daughter has chewed her nails down to the wick and she's starting to bite into her cuticles. Her fingers hurt, they bleed, but she can't stop. We've tried "Nail Biter", the brush on stuff. The yucky taste isn't enough.

I know it started as an emotional thing. She would bite when she got nervous but now its a bad habit. I've tried bribery, promising a professional manicure and pedicure if she can stop. I'm constantly telling her to get her fingers out of her mouth.

I have been biting my nails forever...still do to this day. Nothing works...nail polish, fake nails, tips, bad tasting stuff on my nails...

Ok, my answer is probably not the best one...but I would just let it go. I went through stages were I stopped, but I just can't. It is my way of coping with everyday stresses I guess.

I'm the same way. I go through periods where my nails are just hashed by biting them. I also go through periods with nic(er) nails.
