Wow, I didnt know there were this many NC gals here, I havent been able to find anyone near until now, I am in in Concord NC, which is basically an extension of Charlotte NC!

Oooh I am still trying to get up the nerve to go to Concord Mills. I think it is like a 45 minute drive. I'm just not a confident driver. But I'm going to get there soon!

yeah Concord Mills is the best! Its like 10 minutes away from me depending on the traffic, I love that place!!!!!

I'm in Rock Hill, can I still hang out here? :) I love Concord Mills - but only get up there every few months. IT's fun. I know there is at least one more NCer here. We're supposed to meet up soon! :yippee:

Hey! Rock Hill is pretty close to Charlotte! Do you visit Carowinds often?? I used to work there as a teenager, best job experince ever!!!! *Its where I met DH, as he worked there also! :heart:

Believe it or not, we've lived her since 1999 and haven't been to Carowinds yet. Too expensive! I take that back - I went with a girlfriend to see Duran Duran there in 2000. It was a birthday gift from her :) Very fun! We just went for the concert though. I want to get season passes soon though - I think that is the only way it's worth the cost! IT seems like it would be fun working somewhere like that. A good friend of mine worked at Darien Lake when we were growing up. DL is a Six Flags amusement park back in Buffalo. She loved it, and we got in free all the time :biggrin:

I grew up in Greensboro. I'm now living in MD but my family still lives there so I'm home pretty often. If you all decide to get together I would love to join you if I'm in town.

My parents are moving to the Charlotte Area in the next 3-6 months, due to work related move(USAirways is making one big HQ in Charlotte) anyways, I'm looking for any and all info I can get on the area for them.. Preferably websites would be great that would introduce them to the area and it looks as if they may take a trip or two down to find a house... Any and all help, greatly appreciated!!

Hey! Anyone else effected by Hurricane Ivan?? It was TERRIBLE here!! You'll probably see them talk about Peak's Creek on the news. It's right up the road from me..maybe 15 minutes tops! During the night on the 16th the mountain gave way (because of all the rain, ect) and took 30 homes off their foundation and sent them down the mountain. It destroyed most of them. There have been 4 deaths so far. Many were injured and some are still missing.

Hi Melissa.....I'm near Charlotte....we had a bunch of rain, but not much else. Ya'll had ot pretty bad up in the mountains! I was supposed to go to a LLL meeting in Boone last week and they canceled it because the road washed away!!!

Ya, it got really bad here! Several roads completely washed away...pretty scary. We are under a flood watch again :(
