Hello all,

I know I want to cloth diaper my baby, and I want to try to make a few on my own. I've stumbled across a pattern for ones called PooPocket, where they will fit any size baby 8-35 lbs. Has anyone used these before, or used a one size fits all diaper before? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
~Michelle

My pastors wife is making me cloth diapers and I know she's using this pattern. I don't know if she's making them the one size though...the ones she's made won't fit till 35 lbs I know that

I'm not sure i'd like a one size...that means added bulk in the early time and cloth diapers can be bulky enough as it is. That's just my opinion though, I haven't actually tried them.

I've heard a lot about the PooPockets pattern...

In theory, one-size dipes are great. However, they don't always fit babies well.

My Alyssa is a skinny baby...skinny and long. And one-size dipes don't fit her for diddly. They end up bunchy around the middle if I make them fit her length, and she ends up with baby plumber's crack if I make them fit her middle.

Of course, this is true for any cloth diaper--everything fits everyone differently. So I would say go for it, make a few! But I'd also have some other options on hand in case they don't fit your baby as well as you'd like. I've seen way too many mamas put all their proverbial eggs in one basket, get frustrated b/c they spent all this money on XYZ diapers, and they don't fit...therefore, they just throw in the towel on CDing altogether.

I've heard of them and have seen the pattern online. I really want to try them out. I have no problem pinning dipes, but it'd be nice to have some kind of contoured diaper. They're hard to find to buy. The ones I've seen are $25/3. Not as bad as some diapers cost, but it'd be nice to be able to just try one. I'd like to have a look at the pattern sometime.
