View Full Version : Please help....bleeding while pregnant

Ok, I am really scared right now....

Starting on Thursday, I had some spotting. I went to the ER and they said everything looked ok, but if I was going to m/c, there was nothing they could do. On Friday, I started spotting some more, and had some major cramping. We went back to the ER, and while waiting, I bled enough to soil my underwear (I know, TMI). The docs said they could do nothing, and sent me on my way, telling me to get an appt. with an OBGYN for Monday or Tuesday (of course, after bashing the OBGYN I had already picked out, but that is another topic...). I have continued to spot all weekend. Nothing heavy, but consistant.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this happen, and still carried the baby full term? I just really have no idea of what to do. Any support would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sorry this is happening to you.

A friend of ours has had 2 bleeding scares since she got pregnant; however, 2 u/sounds have shown the baby is fine and she is now 15 weeks. I have heard of this happening to others and the baby being fine in the end. I hope that's how it happens for you.

Try not to worry to much. From what I hear it is rather common and if it is light it is ok. I myself had a period for the first 5 months of my 1st pregnancy (didn't even know I was pregnant) This was normal and right on time..Strange really.

My sister was about 6 wks pg and she too had this happen (what your describing) She called the OB on call and she was a witch (not our regular OB) She flat out told my sister that she M/C...Well let me tell you..The Dr. didn't give up hope (her real OB) and I now have a 7 1/2 mo. Niece to prove it.

I hope that everything is ok and you can get in for an U/S soon to find out what is goin on.

When mil was pregnant with DH, she was bleeding a TON. Her doctor was so mad that she hadn't come in earlier, but everything turned out ok. I know you will call first thing - MAKE SURE YOU DO. Did they check your progesterone levels? I think that's what was MIL's problem. If you've been having a LOT of bleeding, they will probably do an ultrasound.

I hope all turns out okay! THere's not much one can say when you are so scared and uncertain. I'm praying for you though!

I had spotting for the first 2 trimesters of my pregnancy and went to almost 41 weeks. I hope you get into the doctor and they can tell you what's going on!

I had spotting with my last pregnancy - and delivered healthy TWINS at the end of it. I didn't spot at all with my son... :hug99: Hope things turn out okay! :crossfing

Thanks ladies. This does make me feel a bit better. I'm calling to get an appt. with a doc for tomorrow, and hopefully they can get me in for the blood test tonight. I'll keep you all updated. Thank you very much.

Well, I got into the doc yesterday, but haven't gotten back my HCG levels yet. He seemed to think that the bleeding was just going to be normal, but I still am not 100% in the clear. Hopefully I can come back later today with the results.

Thanks for all your support!

Ok, I got the call from the doc today. Looks like my little Jellybean is going to stick around after all :) My HCG levels have doubled (went from almost 11,000 to almost 23,000). The spotting had stopped for most of today, but has come back this evening, but isn't too bad. The doc said if anything changed, to let them know. My next appt. is in two weeks.

Thank you so much ladies for all your support and help. Because of your support, I have decided to make this my new home. Thank you so much.

Wonderful news! Maybe your OB will do an u/s at your appointment and you'll get to see the heartbeat!

I had on and off spotting up until about 16 weeks. Its scary but it can be a normal part of pregnancy for a lot of women. I'm glad everything went okay with your test

I'm glad to hear that your numbers are doubling.

Both of my sisters had bleeding during their pregnancies, and carried beautiful and healthy children to term. My cousin did too... in fact, that's how she found out she was pg... testing due to unexplained bleeding.

I bled off and on during my entire pregnancy with my son Nick, who is now 5. I'm so glad to hear your numbers are doubling.
