Cameron just turned 6 months Sunday. He has been rolling for a little while now, but didn't do it alot. Well just the other day he realized that he can roll over in his crib too. Now my problem is this. He has always been a wonderful naper, 2-3 hrs. in the morning and another 1-2 hours in the afternoon. Well now he wakes up after a half hour of every nap and rolls over onto his tummy. He never liked being on his tummy much, so after a few mins. of being on his tummy he cries. I will roll him back over, and sometimes he will fall back to sleep, but mostly he just does it again and again. He's not been the happiest of campers these days now because he's so tired.
What worries me too is that when he's on his tummy he'll put his head down (to go to sleep) but he puts it straight down and then a min. later whips his head back up grasping for air. He'll keep on doing it too, he doesn't know how to turn his head when he's on his tummy so he can breathe. I'm scared he's going to do it in the middle of the night too. Ughh
Anyone else have this problem and what did you do about it, if anything?

Not that I have a good napper, but Katie is a roller too. I ended up using a sleep positioner for her and it works really well...at least at night--and it definitely keeps her from rolling. I bought mine at Target for around $10.

I do not have much of a problem with rolling except at the beginning of her nap. She used to go down so easy (on her tummy) and then she learned to roll. So now instead of putting her downa nd letting her fuss a minute of two I usually have to put her back on her tummy a time or two. She has always been a short napper (under an hour) so I can't help you with that.

I have a sleep positoner that i stopped using at about 4 months, because somehow he would kick it out from underneath him. Maybe i can try using it again and see what happens. Sure enough he was on his belly at 4:30 this morning and making noises so i went in and turned him. Everytime he's on his belly now i try to turn his head, maybe he'll start doing it. Crazy boy!

I use one of those bed wrappers restraints:

they were designed for beds on house boats to keep kids from rolling out of the bed, but I use it on my cot, it basically wraps around the mattress then in the centre is a section with velcro that you put the baby on then wrap it and fasten it around there stomach.

it stops them from rolling, moving and hitting the side of the cot, its brilliant! it cost about $50 i used it for both my kids
