I'm a bit worried about me sister she gave birth via cesarean on the 24th Spet 2003, she said she bled for about 12 weeks with a least 2 heavy days a week,

Then she she went 9 days no AF spotted for 5 days then AF for 7days fairly heavy for 5 of these. (21 day cycles)

It has now gone last 2 times with 15days no AF spot for 2-3 days and AF for 7 days. (24-25 day cycles)

Her cycles before Isaac were 32 days spot on after birth of first son (5 years ago)(VB) she had 2 weeks of bleeding then 32 days later AF arrived and was normal 5days AF.

She had a blighted ovum Oct 2001 and AF returned to normal about 6 weeks after d/c @ 10 weeks pg.

Now she has told her dr and a locum about how long bleeding etc. Their comment was oh everyone is different.

To me it doesn't seem normal. In Australia we don't usually use OB mainly just our own dr.

also she has been BF since his birth and is now down to 5 times expressing a day.

Please someone tell me if this is normal.

She is going for a pap in about 3 weeks, no dr has suggested one either.

Anything is possible after the birth of a baby. Hormones get all messed up and that really affects your cycles. I went on BCP at 8 weeks PP and I would get AF after 2 weeks of pills. It took about 10 months and a switch to NuvaRing to steady everything out.

I'd go for the pap and then wait a couple more cycles before getting really concerned. Continuing to BF may be keeping things from getting back to normal, too.
