Hi all! I'm just curious about rate of pay for nurses. I realize it is going to differ from state to state, but I just want to get a general idea. I've created a poll but would love if you'd answer my ?s too. I've used proper coding so you can just quote my post to reply.

Are you an RN or LPN?

Associates, Bachelor's or Master's Degree?

Where do you work? (hospital, clinic, assisted care, doctor's office, etc)

Where do you live?

How much do you make?

What hours do you work? (8 hr shifts, 12 hr shifts, how many hours per week on average?)

I am so nosy  I am in school for my ADN and I just want an idea for planning purposes. I know I eventually want to be in L&D but I am possibly interested in something different to gain experience first, since L&D is so fast paced. I'd may want to get my feet wet in a "safer" area. Hope I'm making sense. :blush1: TIA for your help.

Well, I'm not a nurse, but I'm a Nursing Home Administrator, so I employ lots of nurses! I work in long-term care, which tends to pay less than acute care, but my RNs (depending on years of experience) make between $25 - $35 per hour (not counting shift and weekend differentials and overtime), and my LPNs are more in the $20 - $25 per hour range (again, not counting differentials and overtime). I have nurses that average over $70 k per year!!

RN
Associates, Bachelor's or Master's Degree?
Associates
Where do you work? (hospital, clinic, assisted care, doctor's office, etc)
Community Hospital, Emergency Room
Where do you live?
Western Massachusetts
How much do you make?
My base pay is $22.50 and I get 10% for shift diff, and another 15% for weekends.
What hours do you work? (8 hr shifts, 12 hr shifts, how many hours per week on average?)
I work 32 hours 3p-1130p, I would rather 12hr shifts but since I'm low man on the todum pole, I'm stuck with 8's.

Hope that helps
