View Full Version : Has your DH/DW bought your Christmas gifts yet?

I've been wanting a smaller digital cameral for about a year. Darren is supposed to get it for me for Christmas. I picked it out months ago, he knows which one to get. BJ's is the only place around here that carries it.
I know for a fact that he has not bought it yet (I'd notice the money missing from our bank accounts and he can't put that much on his CC without me making a payment).
He won't buy it when I'm with him. I'm betting that he goes to buy it next Tuesday night and they don't have it in stock. He's been such a :moon1: about the whole thing for months, telling me I can't have it until Christmas morning and such. So I'll end up being the one disappointed on Christmas morning because that's the ONLY gift I've asked for and it's the only thing he'd know to buy me (it's $400, I don't need any other gifts).
So I'm gearing myself up for the disappointment. We went through the same thing a couple years ago because he was getting me a digital camera for my birthday but he couldn't decide which one so he ended up waiting until it was too late and I didn't get it until 2 months later.
So, has your DH/Dw finished shopping for you?

i honestly have no idea. i highly doubt it though as he's been working a ton lately. he has mon and tues off next week so i'm sure he'll do it then.
i had originally said 'no gifts' but i let him know today i wrapped his gifts  (i also said 'no gifts' on our anniversary, i got him nothing, he bought me tiffany jewelry!) i did make subtle hints about needing a 'dress' watch....we shall see.

He hasn't bought them because he doesn't know what to get me. I have told him several things that I want but he says he can't get those because I told him what they were and my gifts need to be a surprise. So, he complains that he doesn't know what to get me, but won't get me what I ask for. What a goof!

No, Robb has not gotten me anything...last night we were at the mall and Target and he asked me to point out some things I would like to have..as we left he said "I just don't know what to give you, I don't have any ideas"

We're not exchanging gifts this year. But my DH is notorious for waiting until the last minute. He'd be out with the other men shopping on Xmas Eve if we were exchanging gifts, I'm sure.

Nope. I haven't bought his yet either, so I'm hardly in a position to point fingers, though. He does know what he's getting me because he's been teasing me about it. "Oh you are going to like it so much. Won't you be surprised!"

We're both done. I usually tell Mary exactly what I want (I'm really picky) but she always manages to come up with some good surprises. She tells me what she wants, and I also try to come up with a surprise or two.

I wanted a watch. I think he kind of wanted me to go with him and pick it out. I gave him an idea of what I wanted and sent him on his way. He bought it last week and has it hidden in our room somewhere.
His present is the fish tank he has been putting together the past couple months. We definitely spent enough on it. But our daughter has gotten him a few things he's been wanting. ;)

Sean can't buy anything for me. He can't drive for another three weeks, so he has no way to go shopping. So, no presents for me :( .
I bought him an air compressor and jack stands. Also some cologne. But I am not getting him anything else, because I don't have anything to unwrap.

We got our BMW on our honeymoon in October so that's pretty much our Christmas gift for the next 50 years.

I'd be pointing him to your favorite stuff online! He could always buy it online and have it shipped to you. He wouldn't even need to get off his butt.

Yep, James has been working on it - I think he still has one or two more to go, if he's buying from the list he demanded from me. I have a few things for him, but because he's been doing the "no gifts" routine I have no idea what he wants. We're trying not to spend alot of money, though, so the most expensive thing I got him was a DVD set of a show that he likes.

You mean men can buy gifts before Christmas Eve????????? My DH just finally asked what I wanted, never mind the list I've had on the fridge for weeks!

Nick hasn't gotten my gifts yet because we're still trying to get back on our feet after he was off for 6 weeks with his broken back. We're doing all our Christmas shopping today so we'll have to split up for a little bit. I know I am getting a new stereo for my car but I won't get that until after the new year.

Patrick bought a bunch of stuff on a spree on a day off a couple of weeks ago. It is all stashed at his mom's house. None of it is wrapped of course. He kept going on about how he didn't know what to get me, as I don't really need anything, so I came up with a list of stuff and he said he won't buy what's on the list because then it won't be a surprise. Well I won't know what it's going to be and if it's on the list, then I want it, and I won't be getting crap I don't want. I know I am getting a duvet for the new king size bed because he called me from the store, and also the store lady called to tell me the duvet cover was in. But let's face it, that is kind of an us gift, not a me gift. I want a new chair for the computer, and he spent money at Staples, so it better be a chair or :angrywife On second thought if it is a digital camera then it'll be okay. :)

Zach bought my presents last weekend ... and wrapped them yesterday :) I gave him a list & then he got something at least on his own.
I had to yell at him a few weeks ago -- he said he wanted a longer list so that I could be "surprised" on Christmas. I told him a "surprise" is not NOT getting presents, it's figuring out something ON HIS OWN that I DIDN'T ask for :( Sigh.
I'll get him trained one of these days ...

Well, I got my gift today! Darren bought it yesterday. The only reason I know he bought it is because I went online to make his credit card payment and saw that the charge was pending. He gave it to me today for some reason. I didn't ask for it.
He also did a great job of hiding it. I would never have found it if I had gone snooping.

My hubby is a Christmas time baby (today is his bday) -- I always make an effort to get him separate presents & make a big deal about the day!

Darrell is definitely done shopping for me, and it's been wrapped and under the tree for about two weeks! I have NO idea what he got me...the only thing I asked for was a pair of diamond "J" hoop earrings, so I'm hoping those are under the tree. He usually does a lot of my shopping online and has it shipped to his workplace, and then he uses his truck as 'Santa's workshop', so for about a week I couldn't get in his truck for anything!

Rick got mine a couple weeks ago and stashed them at his mom's house. They are still there. I hope I get them here and not there.
