I was just wondering if anyone else ever had this problem while pregnant? Right now I am about 13 weeks pregnant with twins. Nausea is beginning to subside a little, but my biggest problem is that I have excess mucus!!! It's driving me crazy! I hope this isn't too disgusting, but this is your warning! :)It drips down my throat, and I am always clearing my throat, then I start coughing and then I want to spit it up so as I do that I start gagging. Sometimes with the gagging I will eventually throw up. This cycle continues throughtout the day! I feel like I am running to the bathroom to spit up all day long. It's so bad that most times when I try to eat or drink it won't go down because I have this glob in my throat that blocks it. My throat hurts so bad because it's irritated. I don't know how to deal with this anymore. It makes me feel horrible all day long. I did take sudafed after the Dr. said it was ok, and that helped temporarily, but as soon as it wears off the cycle starts all over again. I don't want to keep taking medicine just to get some relief.

Did anyone else have this problem? I have heard of excess saliva, but from everything I read I have never heard anyone having this kind of mucus problem.

Do you have seasonal allergies? It sounds like post nasal drip. Can you ask your doctor about Claritin or something like that?

I do have allergies, which I know can be making this worse. But I have never had it this bad! Usually I have watery eyes and a runny nose. The last time I saw my Dr. I brought this up and she didn't seem too concerned  She said that since we produce more fluid while pregnant this just comes with the territory. They gave me a pink sheet with medicines that are safe to take and she just told me to take what was on my list for help. Oh well :(

I seem to have a constant stuffy nose now. I have heard that more mucous is common.
