I'm TTC#2 and am finding that I usually get a positive OPK test for 7-8 days in the middle of my cycle. Therefore, I never know exactly when I O (and I'm not temping either). I guess my LH levels are kind of wacky. Does this happen to anyone else??

That's exactly what my problem was the last time I tried OPKs several years ago.

I'm glad to know I'm not alone -- did you use another method to detect or track ovulation? I had used TCOYF and ultimately needed injectibles to get PG with my DS, but with a baby now I just don't feel up for going through the daily temping and charting!
I'm using a saliva tester called "The Donna" to detect changes in my saliva, which supposedly correlates to ovulation, but I'm not sure that it's really working. :dunno: If it doesnt work I may have no choice but to try the TCOYF method again!

I got false positives on OPKs when in fact I wasn't ovulating at all according to my RE--so I don't trust those things at all any more!! My RE said the effectiveness can be skewed by how hydrated/dehydrated you are--and that for a small number of people (like me) they flat out don't work at all.

I always thought there was a lot of room for user error in reading the darn things. I used a fertility monitor, which was accurate for me

I've been using both and have found that the Clear Blue Easy Fertility monitor is more accurate-at least for me.

Why didn't I think of that?! DUH - I already have a Clear Blue FM tucked away somewhere that helped me out the last time I was TTC! It worked well for me. Thanks for the reminder! :)
