I was reading through the thread on what everyone pays for phone service and almost everyone mentioned using their cell phones for long distance. So now I'm curious as to who everyone's cellular provider is! (and also because I work for Verizon Wireless  ) So....who do you have?

We have AT&T and I hate it. I dont know if we have free long distance or not. I had cingular for a long time and loved it. I had free long distance there and used it a ton.

Well, since Cingular is buying AT&T maybe things will get better. I actually have both Cingular (locked in a 2 yr contract) and Verizon. I don't have any problems with my Cingular, but I have to admit I like my Verizon bill much better! ($5/month) For obvious reasons I'll be turning off the Cingular phones next May when my contract is up.

 Im waiting for the towers to be taken over. The only reason im with AT&T now is because im on my parents plan for $30 for 2 phones. Hopefully it wont be too long. Cingular had excellent service for this area. Its hard to find good service because its so far to the end of the state that alot of companies dont put towers this far down. Even though they say their service goes to the end of the roads not all of them do.

Right now we have Sprint b/c we are locked into a contract. While the price is great, we arent pleased w/ the calling area. Our calls are constantly being dropped (and we live in a major city! :complain: ) When the contract is up, Chris wants a new phone, so at that time, we'll go with Verizon. We used to have them and were pleased, but switched to Sprint when we wanted new phones.

We have Verizon and really like it. We have tried Cingular and T-Mobile and both dropped calls all the time - we too live in a major city. With Verizon we never drop calls, and we don't pay that much for service either...

Cingular. Have had them for about 6 years now and no problems.

We have crappy Sprint. I think we're going to Nextel soon. Can't wait to use those walkie-talkies.

We just switched to T-Mobile not too long ago. Cingular sucks - the current call timer on Kevin's phone ran for several HOURS on more than one occasion, which resulted in us having a HUGE bill. Of course, it didn't correlate to any specific call on the bill (because there was no six-hour-long phone call), so they said they couldn't do anything about it and we owed the money. Bye-bye Cingular! So far we haven't had any problems with T-Mobile, and I haven't had problems with calls being dropped at all - it's been way better than Cingular as far as that goes.

We just switched to AT&T in December and I'm happy with them so far. I just had to replace Brendon's phone because the earpiece quit working, and the customer service reps that I have talked to have been good. The one that helped me yesterday while I was trying to get his new phone activated was great, actually! :aok:

I'm much happier with AT&T than I was with Cingular; coverage here is WAY better with AT&T! (I guess that won't be an issue soon, since they're merging but Cingular's coverage before was atrocious here.)

DH and I have Nextel. I used to have Cingular, then AT&T. So far I like Nextel the most (I've only had it about a month).

Cingular. :) They had a great promotion going on when we signed up (bill is $60/mo for 3 phones). I had Sprint before and the coverage area around here is spotty, I experienced a bunch of dropped calls, and they were overcharging us BIG time.

We have Nextel and love it. We had AT&T before and I couldn't wait for that contract to be up. They were horrible.

Virgin Mobile--pay as you go. It works perfectly for us because we don't use that many minutes.

We have Verizon and, while the coverage is great, we're not at all pleased with the company. The customer service has been really shoddy--and we've been with the company for almost five years now. When our contract is up at the end of the year we may look into changing companies.

Cingular- But I have had them all except NEXTEL at one time or another. So far Cingular has been the worst for customer service but I partly blame that on AT&T because they were so slow releasing my phone number that I was out of a phone for a month. Oh but don't worry they turned off my phone as soon as they got the request. Any of them that I have been with haven't been stellar or horrible in my experience. I have heard NEXTEL is the best but I cannot afford their service. The only reason why I even switched to Cingular is to keep my SBC DSL at 29 a month. I guess I am going to have them forever.

We have Sprint. The service is good and we get 25% off our bill each month because they have a deal with our work (and a lot of places. If you have sprint and work for a semi-large to large company chances are you get 25% off as well).

We have Sprint PCS... I have been with them for about 5 years but plan on shopping around when our contract comes up for renewal in December.

I have always had Cingular, so I don't have much to compare it too, but I have always loved them and never had a problem. I am a phone klutz-dropped phones, lost phones etc etc. Getting a replacement or repair has never been an issue. Once, the phone just stopped working. I thought for sure I was going to have to get a new one. I brought it into the store and they looked it over and poked it and played with it and it wouldn't turn on for anything. So they gave me a replacement for free because they said there was no reason for it to not work. I had the phone insurance but they didn't even charge me the replacement fee (last time I had to replace a phone, it was $20 but it may have changed since then) I was really impressed with that.

We get a government rate b/c of our jobs. So who we have depends on who the gov. contract is with at the time. We had Verizon last (and I HATED them) and now have AT&T (who's just okay)

T-Mobile - had it since it was Voicestream...my FIL works for a company that sells T-Mobile products, so we haven't switched. We're happy with them!
