Anyone belong to a chapter of MOMS Club? A new chapter is starting in my town and I'm just curious as to the types of activities they typically do.

I belong to the one in my area but havent been a member that long. They have one meeting a month, 2 playdates a month and various activites to get everybody together throughout the month. They also have a cooking club, photography club, craft club, etc. Oh and cant forget the moms night out once a month . Thats all I can think of right now.

I don't belong, but have done presenations at a few. I've done them at the general meetings. I think they also have book clubs, mothers night out events, at a meeting I presented at today, they discussed an easter picnic in the park. They are international, so they must do something right!

I've been going to one in Asheboro (where we are probably moving)
They have:
*2 playgroups that meet at least once a week (divided up by age of the child)
*at least 2 other activities involving children a week (Zoo day, Easter Egg Dying, etc)
*a monthly business meeting
*a monthly whole-family potluck dinner (including dads)
*a monthly mom's night out
*a book club, a scrapbooking club and a cooking club
Obviously you just go to as many activities as possible, I don't think anyone goes to them all!!!
I've been very happy with the club and have made some INCREDIBLE friends.

I'm a member of my local MOMS Club. There are weekly playgroups, divided by birth year, and usually limited to about 6 moms/kids (beyond that number and they'll start a new group for that age). We have a monthly moms night out, a cooking club, a lunch group that meets monthly, twice monthly walking club meetings, holiday activities, monthly business meeting (which is really just a chance to chat and there are snacks and crafts for the kids and sometimes a guest speaker), and various other activities.
I just joined last month, so a business meeting and playgroup are all I've done so far, but there seems to be lots of opportunities to get involved. And the price is right, too. Unlike lots of classes I've seen for $300+ per session, a year's membership to MOMS Club is only about $25 (plus the costs of activities, if that applies).

I just joined my local MOMs Club and am so impressed with how organized it is - there are so many committees to get involved with and so many neat activities each week. I was in a sorority in college and it totally reminds me of it in terms of the organization, volunteer opportunities, fun activities, etc. I hope to join the Nursing group and maybe a playgroup and book club in time.

I've been a member of our local MOMS club since October of last year, and am so glad I joined! Since, I we moved to TN not knowing anyone, it has been an awesome opportunity for me to meet other people in my area. We have Moms Night Out, Couples Night Out, babysitting coops, playgroups, and outings such as the zoo, lunch bunch, discover center, park, and monthly parties and business meetings.

Does anyone know if there's any MOMS clubs in Canada or is this a US thing? Sounds great, but I don't know where I'd even look to find one! LOL

There's also other groups such as Mommy and Me, MOPS, etc. Just do a search on the internet and see what you can find!

Is that Moms club only for at home mothers?

Tori, I think it is--the meetings and a lot of the activities take place during the day.

I think it's supposed to be. In ours we have 2 moms that work- one works part time and one works at nights.
