Okay, So we've all seen the cute little nurseries all set up for the baby's arrival. It's all neat and organized and new. So, I was wondering what the nursery acually looks like after the baby comes home. Post your "before" pics and some pics of what your nursery is like today.

Also, did you find tht you didn't need something or you should have bought that one something. Give me all the good details.

Um, my nursery was organized and it continues to be that way. We have moved as well during Aiden's 8+ months, and his room was the first room that was completely unpacked and has remained as organized. It has to be..... one time we needed the nose syphon as Aiden accidently breathed his oatmeal, and DH couldn't find it. I FLIPPED! It was in the same da**ed place it always was.... he just didn't become "familiar" with the room. After that episode, he did.

Didn't need so many receiving blankets.... they were great at first for swaddling, but now that they are too small, what do you do with them? They are just taking up space.
We have a changing tower.... it has been an awesome investment! I put those clear rubbermaid shoe size boxes in the drawers to keep socks in one, hats in another, bibs, etc. They are the perfect size.

I keep saying I'll get a pic of the new room (cause I made the curtains and crib skirt....) but everytime I think about it when I'm online, Aiden is in his room taking a nap.

My nursery looks exactly the same four months after Katie's birth as it did before her birth...I like things neat and organized so I know where to find things.

Oh, and I agree with Mandy about the receiving blankets. I wanted all these flannel receiving blankets and now I don't know what to do with them. We have WAY too many of them!

Our nursery also is pretty much the same. The only difference is the mobile in the crib. We orignally had the nice, pretty one that matches the room. But it was wind-up (only lasted 2 minutes) and that got old pretty quick! So we got a fun, brightly colored battery-operated one. It doesn't look as "pretty" but it is a lifesaver. It plays for about 20 minutes and Carolyn stares and coos at it the whole time :)

Here is her crib before she was born:

You can see the mobile more in this pic:

Emily's is pretty much the same 10 months later. A little messier in one of the corners, because I have a wicker hamper full of all the stuffed animals she got as gifts when she was born and DH loves to take them out and play with them with her, and then (literally) throw them back in, basketball-style! Other than that, unless Emily's been up to mischief in there while we play on the floor (she likes to pull all her dirty laundry out and throw it around!) it stays pretty neat and organized.

Like Lisa, we started out with a cute-and-pretty mobile and then went out and bought a battery-powered, brightly colored one. (We actually bought the same Tiny Love one Lisa has, but the entire mobile part detached from the arm and FELL ON EMILY'S FACE so we promptly returned it and got a Sassy one!)

I'll be the first to admit that Kalynn's room isn't as organized  Especially now that she's walking. It's not too bad, though. The only difference is that she has a big ol bucket of toys and sometimes clothes are all over the place  She's asleep now, so I'll come back and edit when she wakes up. I took out the glider, I never used it.

The livingroom isn't as organized anymore though!
Here's before she was born.

And this is it now

It stayed pretty much clean before she got mobile, but after she got mobile is when her organized room went to that! We usually pick up her room and I vaccuum a couple times a week though.
