Praying this is a good one for us all!
Hey Girls, when the GP said she was referring me to the fertility clinic she said it would be 6-8 wks. Now I'm wondering if that's 6-8 wks until I will receive my apointment leter or 6-8 wks until I will actually get seen.
It will be 2 wks on Mon since I went to see her so if I haven't received a letter by then should I call up and ask or is that too pushy??
I don't want to wait 2 months and then chase it up and then they say they haven't even sent the referral letter yet (which happened when I was waiting to get a mole removed)
What D'ya think?

Okay, girls... can someone describe O pain to me... I know, I'm 30, I should know these things by now, but it has been *SO* long since I have had one... I'm CD12 today... I've been EXTREMELY moody the last 2-3 days, feel bloaty, nauseaus in the mornings, headachy... is that kosher with O time?
Tab

:hug99:Tabitha! How are you feeling?I'm doing good. Thanks for asking :) I think we are taking a break for awhile but you can keep me on the stats so I know where I am. I put a hold on my FF account as well.

April 27th, 2008, 04:45 AM
Shanna, the timing would def be around then. If you have a regular cycle it's normally around days 12 to 16.
Tab :hug1:
MamaGoofy
April 27th, 2008, 02:00 PM
Shanna: When I have O pain it feels like cramping just more severe. I would say the symptoms you are having are normal. People usually O between CD12-17 depending on your cycle length(and other things as well) Of course, everyone is different.
Tab: Take care of yourself and check in and let us know how you're doing. :hug99:

Crap! I don't feel good. We went to Epcot yesterday and I feel like poop. My throat hurts, my sinus are swollen and my ears hurt a bit. I hope I am not coming down with a sinus infection. O time is coming this weekend I don't have time to be sick. This past week I have had 2-3 dreams about me having a baby. In one of the dreams I was sitting here at the computer and the baby started crying and I asked David to take care of her 'cause I was to busy playing on line. :whoa: What?? She was only a few days old at that. Weird dreams I tell ya!

I am sick as a dog. Running fever, sore throat, sinus' stuffed!~! Went to the dr yesterday and have nasty sinus infection. She said that I need to be careful, apparenly this crap is turning into pneumonia(sp). Just what I need on my O week. :sigh:

Shanna, It's a shame you don't know what your natural cycle is yet as it is easier to work out when you O. Normaly 14 days before AF arrives. How would you feel if you did get Pg?
Melissa,:consoling I am so sorry that things seem to be against you at the moment. Keep your chin up girl and go catch that egg!!
As for me I called the Dr Mon and they hadn't even sent the referral letter yet (2 wks after my appointment!):banghead: I was kind of expecting to hear that as it has happened before and everything is so slow over here!! Anyway if I don't hear in another 2 wks then I have to call them up to chase it again. It just sucks!
Shanna
April 30th, 2008, 11:49 AM
Lottie, I would feel fine about it :) I would feel kinda silly for it having happened, but I would welcome another child with open arms. I wish my body would get back to normal. I had an appt with my endo yesterday. I hadn't taken my Synthroid since last Tuesday, since I was feeling very hyper-stimulated, and when I had my blood draw on Monday, my levels were perfect, even missing that much, so he is having me take 3 more weeks off of my meds and re-test in a month. Since I had my IUD out, my whole body has been wacky!

Lottie: sorry you are having to deal with so much crap!
As for me the pity party is over...they never last long. I just pulled myself up by my bootstraps had a good talk with God and all is well! He never closes a door without opening another one. If you stare to long at the closed door you may miss the one He opened for you! So I am off to look for that open door!! ;)

So I had my yearly today with my new doctor. He explained to me a likely reason for why I had so many problems with my IUD - and that was just after talking for about 10 minutes. He said that the emergency D&C I had to have just a few hours after the twins were born likely left a lot of scar tissue, which wouldn't show up on an ultrasound. He said that alot of times, doctors are so frantic to stop the bleeding that they "scrape a little too hard" and can leave some serious uterine scarring. He said that in mothers who have the hemorrhaging like I did and the D&C, they are typically poor candidates for IUD use because the scarring ends up much like a labrinth (sp?) and the device never settles properly and can keep the uterus inflamed as a result. Which explains MOST of my problems. On the other hand, he also said that typically, that much scar tissue can lead to infertility.
I'm glad to have a (probable) explanation of my problems, now if I could just re-lose the 10 pounds I have gained in the last year :giggle:

I'm okay with everything. I guess unintionally-caused infertility can be a blessing? Of course, he would have to do some actually testing, etc., to find out if it has caused infertility in my case, but he said that I may not need to worry about birth control because of it. :dunno: I'd be fine having another child, but John isn't so keen on it. I told him that I have already put my body through hell, I am not doing it anymore. If he wants to guarantee no more kids, it is on his shoulders now, as far as doing anything more than condoms, etc. :dunno:

Also if no AF in 4 weeks I have to see him for b/t to
to check I am not UTD (never know miracles can happen  )

As for me, temps are dropping but that's about it. I have this weird crampy twingy feeling but it comes and goes..not sure what that is about. I am pretty sure this is it for me this cycle. I notice that I ovulated really late this cycle so maybe I O'd on the right side (tubless) which means next cycle should be Oing on the left and I may have a better chance and getting knocked up. I need to really focus on losing as much weight as possible before getting pg. I don't want to be a big ole heifer pg. With David I gained 40 pounds and I really don't want to add 40 to my already high number!! Need to get serious about my weight loss!!

I started temping again on Saturday because I woke up so stinken hot and it was 98.2, Sunday 98 and today it was chilly in here so I'm assuming since we had our ceiling fan on it was even chillier with a temp of 97.9. AF should be here soon but I have been so nauseated but thats normally the norm for me when AF should be arriving  We DTD this morning and I thought for sure AF would come but nope nothing so I'm assuming by tomorrow or Wednesday she should be here. I know I O'd too since I had major, major O pain but wasn't charting so I can't remember when it was but it was around the middle of the month which would be my normal time of O'ing
Good luck Melissa :crossfing: are you sure you can't test any sooner?
ETA: I took my temp 45 minutes earlier this morning so I did a temp correct and it took it to 98.5 which I round mine up to the nearest one which would be 98.10.

:hug99: Melissa. I think testing every cycle is one then when you haven't been trying for too long, but after 4 years I totally understand how painful it would be to see that BFN, hence why I support the fact that you will never POAS unless all the signs point to it being a BFP! I am sorry your temps are going down, it's so unfair. On the plus side of things though atleast you know you are going into an O from your tube side so get ready for the BD fest :brow:

hey girls - sorry to drop in and add my name to the list and then disappear. I was at my parents last week and didn't have much time to check in here.
Anyway, I'm excited to be going down this road again. Hopefully, things will go as smoothly as they did when we were TTC Dylan. It only took us two months with him so I'm hoping for something similar. We are traveling to see Eric's parents this weekend right during the time I'll likely be fertile so I'm pretty much already counting this month out. Ah well, what are you going to do?
And now after only 45 minutes Dylan has decided that his nap is over. :silly:

When you said "uncle" I thought you meant some relative to Aunt Flo. I am a dense person sometimes.

Thanks for noticing. :) And yes, I am on the same day as you. I've been out of town pretty much since May 15 so I didn't even notice. Thankfully, we have no travel plans for awhile.
We've been doing out best to make Dylan a sibiling. :giggle: I know it's still a bit early in my cycle but signs are indicating that I'm starting to be fertile. Of course we'll probably continue our lovefest through the weekend because it's just fun.
I forget who said it, but someone said that they have a harder time waiting at the begining of the cycle than they do for testing. I agree! I just want to be fertile so we can give it our best try. After that, it is out of our hands and there is nothing we can do.

I'm not certain when I O, as I don't chart. But my cycles are pretty regular and are usually between 27-29 days. Things have started to get slippery and I haven't been able to sleep. Those are sure signs for me that I'm ovulating.

So I had the hospital this morning.... It went ok but not the most pleasant experience  She looked at my cervix and said that it looks healthy so the bleeding after BD must be menstrual blood from where I haven’t had proper AF for so long. She took some swabs and some blood tests.
She has given me some tablets which contain progesterone which I need to take for 3 wks and then when I stop taking them it should bring on AF. At this point I need to make an appointment to go back and have the dye injected into my tubes so they can X-ray and see if they are clear.
I have to keep track of any irregular bleeding and if it still continues to happen after BD then will have to stay on the tablets for another 3 months :disbelief which I am really hoping I don’t have to as we cannot ‘Try’ while I am on the tablets.
Dh has also got to give a sample.:blush1: Fingers crossed there’s not a problem with both of us!
We will eventually have another appointment to get all the test results and hopefully my cycle will be a bit more normal by then and they will be able to focus on getting me to O again, probably through Clomid.
So anyway I suppose we are heading in the right direction and I need to be patient :wait: for a few more months and see what the results are.
If I am a bit quiet then you will know what’s going on with me. I think I will just be lurking and Cheerleading:rahrah: for a while until we can start trying again.
BTW good luck Lizzie and Erica. Catch those eggies

My husband had to give a sample too before they put us on clomid, they didn't see the point on giving it to me if he had a problem too. He passed with flying colours and was oh so proud too   On the plus side of things a lot of woman get pregnant the cycle after having a HSG (the tube dye thing) as it's supposed to flush it clear. So I'm finding myself getting anxious during this 2ww period. I thought I was going to just go with the flow and whatever happens, happens. HA! I'm sitting here analyzing everything.
I'm was feeling a little crampy last night and this morning so of course I'm thinking implantation. It's probably too early for that but who knows. I had some spotting last weekend which could be a sign of ovulation so it's 7+ days past that. I think I'm going to drive myself crazy until AF shows or I POAS. :giggle: I've already been looking at the calendar to figure out when it would make sense to test. Somebody shoot me now!:rr:

Hugs Melissa. The charting and temping is definitely stressful, it's hard to think about anything else when your mind is focused on taking your temp every day. Glad you're not leaving us though!
Erica, agreed, it's hard not to analyse. Do you normally spot around ovulation (is it a good indicator for you?).

Since AF returned after Dylan was born, I've spoted more times than I haven't. I never used to spot so this is still pretty new to me.
Not until I am officially late. So probably the 12th or so. I'm not a big tester. I tend to wait until I know that AF should've been here.
You have more self control than me :hehe:
Melissa, I understand your decision but will miss ya. You know where we are if you need us :bighug:

Sorry about the BFN, Erica. :hug99: Maybe Lottie is right and it's just too soon.
I am now just waiting for AF and my numbers (beta) to go back down. I have been doing a lot of reading and research and I read that some doctors say that you're most fertile the first cycle after a miscarriage. The evidence that supports this theory says that your progesterone is higher as a result of a recent preganancy, so that in turn makes you more "fertile". I think it only applies to women that has a "low" progesterone issue in the first place. Has anyone ever heard of this?
I think it's interesting because when I talked to Dr. H's nurse on Monday, she wanted my numbers to go down before we start ttc again, but she didn't insist that they return to zero. She just said, "they need to be low". Not that I think this has been the only infertility issue with me. I know I have had low progesterone levels, because my previous ob/gyn put me on clomid a year and a half ago...but with this last pregnancy my (1 week after O) level was 25. But it makes me wonder if I will be more fertile, kwim? I plan on asking Dr. H's nurse when I talk to her again...

I'm not upset over the BFN. I really didn't expect it to be positive. I'm going to wait until Sunday morning to take the other test. That is of course, as long as AF doesn't show. If it is + I will have an extra Father's Day present for Eric.
Sunday will be CD31. My longest recent cycle has been 29 days. But pre-Dylan I remember having a 33 day cycle so who knows? :dunno: I still don't feel like AF is on the way or pregnant.
V - I hope you find the answers you are looking for. I do know that a good friend of mine had a miscarriage and the following month was pregnant again. So there my be some truth to being more fertile after a miscarriage. :hug99:

Hi all, sorry haven't been around. We went away for a week and I only had about 10 mins internet access the whole time. AF showed up while we were gone and as you've spotted, already on CD5.
Good luck with the test on Sunday Erica, fingers crossed.
V, no I haven't heard that about the progesterone but would make sense.

V - I also read that you're supposedly more fertile the first three cycles after m/c. I fell pregnant the third cycle after my m/c..... which was quicker than before where it took me 5 cycles to fall pregnant with the one that ended in m/c.... Let's hope it's true for you!!

Sorry Erica...sounds like you're still in high spirits though. :giggle:
Good news for me:
HCG (beta) numbers from last week: 1476
HCG (beta) numbers from this week: 659
Going down...good. I was a little nervous since I didn't have a D & C. OB/GYN nurse said that since numbers were decreasing significantly, I had nothing to worry about. Dr. H's nurse said that when the numbers were low enough, we could start trying again!

V ::: I am so sorry I didn't realise things didn't work out for you :bighug: can I ask a quick question when you say prgesterone (beta) I am confused beta and prog are 2 different hormones , but yes after a m/c you are considered more fertile due to lining be all ready etc, adn prog levels being higher which makes for sticky baby lining, if she is waiting for numbers to go to 0 I expect that is your beta HCG levels, prog levels never go to 0 unless you are in menopause and then you can expect levels of <3 HTH!!!! just go for it, we did, although it didn't work but can't hurt. :goodluck:
ok quick question would it be bad of me to take 150mgs clomid rather than the 100mgs I have been prescribed, I have never overstimulated only ever get 1 follicle on clomid so no risk of major multiples, excpet I wont be having cd12 scan as I am going away..........:silly: or not????

Sorry about AF Rachel and Erica.
Rachel, I don't know about the clomid...Did your doctor say that upping the dose to 150mg would be the next step?
V, I am glad your body is returning to normal so you can try again soon. I have also heard that your body is more fertile after a m/c...I have heard of women who became pg again right away.

Rachel...yes, she said HCG levels. (I made the corrections above) Your question made a good point. I thought they were the same...I obviously have some questions for the nurse today when I talk to her.
As for the clomid; I say if you can handle the side effects and if you have never overstimulated, go for the 150mgs! I couldn't handle the side effects of the higher dosage when they increased mine from 50mgs to 100mgs...
