If you were independently wealthy, where in the world would you live?

Southern California. That's where I grew up until it became too expensive for my parents. My family would be nearby, the weather is almost perfect, there's so much to do - the beach, the mountains, Disneyland, professional sports, etc. I miss it and I don't even have to think twice, that's where I'd live if I could.

I'd stay in New York. Apartment in Manhattan, country house upstate. Then a beach house in Miami!

I would probably stay here or move back to my hometown. Of course I would have my own airplane to take me to my beachhouse in the caribbean, a home in Northern Ireland so I could go see my Nanny whenever I wanted...

I'd have to have at least 2 houses...we like it too much here to move, but we really miss Ann Arbor...

I'd probably stay here, but maybe in a bigger house and a cottage on a lake in Northern Michigan.

I would move to Vancouver Island but buy a place (can be small) in Hawaii to vacation to.

It's a toss up between a large farm house on a lot of property right here in my town, or somewhere in Seattle near my sister.

Somewhere in the Acores mountains another in Italy and England countryside ontop of this house :)

It would either be right in Seattle (but with a couple of acres as a buffer, so I can't see in my neighbor's windows), Edinburgh, or Oxfordshire in England. :)

If I were very wealthy, I'd have an endless summer. 6 months in Sydney, Australia and 6 months somewhere in Ireland with a holiday house either in Tuscany or the South of France :)

Victoria BC, baby!! :dude: No doubt! I'd be gone in less than a heartbeat. Like, if I won the $12 million on Friday and checked the ticket Saturday, I'd be there Sunday! :)

Of course I'd have my other vacation homes to visit but that is and always will be my home. :)

Somewhere warm. Nice private beach with a drink with an umbrella.

I really think I'd live close to where I live...most important to have my family and friends around. In a nicer house, mind you. :) And that doesn't mean I wouldn't have a fabulous vacation home or two to take off to. :awink:

Around the corner from where I live now :) And then of course there would be my house in LBI and the condo in St. Maarten.

(ETA, I live in Northern NJ... I forgot that I have text mucking up my location line  )

I don't have to limit the homes, do I?
I'd love to live in San Diego, but I'd also love to live in Boston. And of course, an ocean home, perhaps in the Bahamas or something. I'd like to say somewhere abroad, but I've never been, so I really don't know.

I would move back to northern Virginia and live right outside Washington, DC. I miss that area immensely.

Oh, sorry, that would be Long Beach Island on the Jersey Shore. It's a strip that has the ocean on one side and the bay on the other, gorgeous. Now, if only I have $4M for a parking space down there...

I'd buy a bigger house in our current town, keep our Maine house, and selectively purchase a few others- probably Italy, maybe one in India for MIL to use, and probably somewhere warm and beachy. Oh, and a house on Nantucket. :)

We'd have a few... I think we'd have a beach house somewhere, maybe in CA to be close to family. A villa in Tuscany for sure! An apartment in NYC, a 'country house' somewhere in New England and a Xmas house in somewhere like CO (somewhere that they're for sure be snow on Xmas)... maybe more, I'm sure DH would want some say!

I am not sure.

I think I would buy a second house in the Dallas area so that I wouldn't have to stay with my Dad or my Mom when we go back for visits. :giggle:
