What indulgence always makes your grocery list?

Good coffee... I like to get the Starbucks French Roast beans.
I have tried to do Folgers or Maxwell House ground coffee and it doesn't compare to fresh ground beans.

Illy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Illy) espresso, it costs $13.99 for the can as opposed to getting reg espresso for $2.99.. I can't drink anything else now.

Good coffee is a given. I don't count that as an indulgence. Cheap coffee isn't worth it. For me, its alcohol and good dark chocolate. We scale back on other stuff, but somehow, those things are always in the cart :heee:

Imported sharp provolone cheese. It's expensive but worth it, so good! And it's the only cheese Patrick will eat.

Oh yeah, cheese, it has to be Reggiano Parmigiano no exceptions..It's very expensive but I don't care, there is no substitution.

I agree on the coffee. We bought Starbucks for many years, but now use Dunkin'Donuts most of the time. My mom was just trying to convince me this morning that Chock Full of Nuts is just as good as DnD. Not on your life!! I don't know if DnD would be considered extravagant, but....What else? Weight Watchers ice cream bars and Vita Muffins - definitely expensive when you consider the amount of food you're actually getting, but for the portion control and nutritional info, it's worth it to me...

East Coasters feel so much differently about DnD coffee than we do. Here, its ghetto coffee  (because that's the only place DnDs are located).

Every now and then I will put New England coffee in my cart. I love the blueberry one.

Good steaks :lick: We don't mind paying the $$ for a good steak  And also ice cream, we could buy the store brand but it's just not the same... oh, and frozen lemonade, we only buy the Minute Maid not matter if the other ones are on sale b/c none of them taste as good as MM

Wow, I think DD is the best coffee! I tend to think gourmet coffee & Starbucks tastes burnt.

Starbucks definitely tastes burnt. But I'm not a huge coffee fan anyway, I drink it *maybe* once a month.
Grocery indulgences - chocolate, ice cream.

I don't think of good coffee as an indulgence. It's something that we drink pretty much every day & is significantly cheaper than Starbucks. I can't think of anything that we buy every time we shop. I do have a thing for nice cheese, though.

We have a grocery store called Wegman's - their white cheddar broccoli soup is TDF! It's sooooooo fattening, and rather expensive, but soooo worth it.

Right now it's blueberry bagels. They are so yummy, but I so don't need to be eating them  I need to start avoiding that aisle cause if I don't see them, I won't buy them.

I don't generally allow myself treats from the grocery store, because I'm too cheap. :scan:
When I do get a wild hair, however, I like to get muenster cheese. :lick: Most other treats need to be on sale first - cookies, ice cream, chips, etc. Sometimes stuff is on sale A LOT....and sometimes not so much. Helps keep my budget in check. Paul's fav treat (when it's on sale) is Tillamook mocha espresso ice cream.
As for coffee, I make Paul buy his own coffee because I don't drink it EVER and I get pukey handling it. :errr: He just gets what he wants....and I have NO idea what that is.

I really don't buy anything extravagent either...anything non-necessary I only buy on sale. Yes, I am that cheap. :heee:

Pre-diet we would always get 2 family size blocks of good chocolate. Now I am on the diet, I only buy one block and that's for Tony, I haven't touched it.
I guess my indulgence now is prime cuts of meat, because I am trying to buy the leanest possible.

Fresh produce. We pretty much always have at least 4 different fruits, and at least 6 or 7 different veggies on hand. I don't get too concerned out of season, but definitely take advantage of 'in season' items when I can. Either way... fresh produce is, without a doubt, my indulgence.

This is Keith's indulgence. I can take it or leave it.

I guess I am a much more indulgent shopper than I thought after reading people's responses. Most of the things people listed are things I wouldn't think twice about buying and I've never considered an indulgence/not necessary/extravagant. :dunno:

Coffee is probably my indulgence too. I either get D&D (it hurts my heart to think of it as ghetto coffe!), or Green Mountain (I also think Starbucks tastes burnt). I also indulge on wine - but I can't get that at the grocery store.

For me I just assume fresh produce is a given, I just can't imagine going shopping and NOT buying fresh fruit and veggies...

I agree. I posted thinking "indulgent" as in calories, not in dollars. I really don't care what things cost, if we like it, I buy it :dunno: But I am trying to lose a little weight, so I don't need to be buying high calorie treats for myself.
I also agree with Jillian about fruit and veg. Who doesn't buy fresh produce every week?
