Do you like grocery shopping?

I love love love grocery shopping. However, that drasticly changes if I have to take a child(ren) with me. I only love it if I am by myself and can take my time and enjoy the solitude.

Most of the time I don't like it. Like Karri, I infinitely prefer to go by myself.

I'm with Karri - going grocery shopping is one of my fav things to do and I could easily spend 2-3 hours doing it every time. :heee: I love to see how much stuff I can get for the fewest dollars. :woot:

I don't mind it if Alex is with me.....but I won't take him on long trips where I need a lot of stuff. His timer dings at about an hour and then he's just cranky and whiny.....no matter how much I've involved him in the process or how many snacks I've plied him with. :lol: My grocery store does have a free play area while you're shopping....but it's just for an hour, and then I have to listen to him whine the rest of the trip about how he wants to go back in there.
The beauty for me is that the branch where I work is an in-store, so I just get off of work, grab a cart, and do what I need to do in peace! :)

I don't mind it, as long as there aren't too many people in the store. When I go to just pick up a few things, I love having the kids with me. They enjoy getting groceries, and Riley even pretends to write her own list. She insists on bringing her purse and her "credit card," which is just a piece of plastic with her name on it. :lol:

We do our major shopping on the weekends, and we all go, so that part I don't really enjoy since everyone is out on the weekends.

I love grocery shopping, even when Caroline is with me. I think it's a holdover from that first time that you live away from home and you realize that you can eat whatever YOU want. If you want Twinkies for dinner and Cocoa Puffs for breakfast, you can do that! (you won't feel very good, but you can!) I enjoy going up and down the aisle, perusing choices and finding new things to try.

I love grocery shopping, usually even with the kids. I loved grocery shopping with my mom when I was little and then my dad when I was in high school. Weird.

I hated going into the grocery in England but prefered their online/delivery system even over grocery shopping here. They have an awesome system and I wish it'd get widespread in the US. (I know I've mentioned this 8000 times!!) :)

I guess I am the odd one out. I hate it! I dread going to the store and paying that much money for food. I would almost rather clean the bathroom, tub and all. :dead:

I really don't mind grocery shopping. Ian is usually with me and he does pretty good, it's when I have to take both boys that I really don't enjoy it b/c they are constantly getting on each other's nerves & asking for a million things.

I do have to say that I do not like putting all the groceries away at all :shuffle:

Same here. Love it ALONE! Strongly dislike with one kid, more so with two... worst nightmare with all 3.

I love grocery shopping, but I don't like it when the store is too crowded. I don't mind taking Anna with me, she's a good shopper. I haven't taken Jackson by himself in so long, that I don't know if it would be fun or not. I don't know if he'd still fit in the seat in the cart (or if he'd sit in it).

I like the shopping but like to go alone as well. Taking one is not so bad, as I did today, but two is harder - asking for stuff, arguing, you know....but I do like the actual shopping. I'd like it a LOT more if someone would lug all the bags into the house for me and put it all away! :up:

I love grocery shopping ALONE, however my love has wained a bit due the to outrageous prices of EVERYTHING these days. Makes writing that check very painful.

I am not too fond of grocery shopping either. I usually go to Costco and Trader Joes, and it's uneventful. Boring really. I prefer to have the kids with me.

On the other hand, I love going to Whole Foods. DF and I can make a date out of Whole Foods...the smell of the hot foods and desserts is almost sensual!

I wouldn't say I love it, but I don't mind it. I prefer to go alone, but these days the kids are much better and I don't mind taking one with me. More then one and it's painful though :rolleyes:

Like Mary, what I don't like is putting the groceries away. I hate that part of it.

And if I have all three, I'm generally shaking and twitching by the time I get out of there. Before Connor and Lilly were in school, I'd go on Friday nights so I could be alone. I'm afraid I'm going back to that routine this summer!

I hate this part too!! Our house in Wyoming was a bi-level and if we parked in the garage we had to go up 2 flights of stairs with them. It sucked!

This is me too..except on the days when I take my mom grocery shopping with me :doh:. Then I get the "oh Deborah..you do not need potato chips or whatever it is she does not agree with" :rolleyes:

This is me exactly... I live in a 3rd floor walk up, bringing groceries in is painful!

I like grocery shopping, but I wish I could go alone. At our house it is a whole family affair. I like to browse while DH likes to power shop!
