School and teacher conferences are occupying my mind today, so:
Who was your worst/meanest/most hated teacher? Why?
Who was your favorite teacher?
Did you ever fail a class?

Who was your worst/meanest/most hated teacher? Why?
Probably my high school history teacher. He had something against me, and I have no idea why. He trash talked me to my mom and said that I only got good marks because I worked with my friend. He also tended to pick on another girl, and both of our dad's are clergy, so he would quiz us on Bible stories. I could go on and on, but I won't. :heee: I also had a really bad teacher for grade 9 math. He was a jerk and made fun of my friends and I in front of the whole class when we went to him for some extra help on the previous day's lesson.
Who was your favorite teacher?
It's hard to pick. I had a lot of good ones. I really liked my Finite Math teacher. He was really patient. I also had a great Biology teacher. She is dyslexic and has infinite patience when students are having trouble with a concept, and she can explain the same thing about 100 different ways.
Did you ever fail a class?
Nope. :)

Who was your worst/meanest/most hated teacher? Why? Sr Imelda, 6th Grade. A truly horrible woman.
Who was your favorite teacher? Miss Barwick, 2nd Grade. She was so pretty, she had long blonde hair and looked like Barbie
Did you ever fail a class? No.

Who was your worst/meanest/most hated teacher? Why? Sr. Agnita, 5th grade. Horrible woman, mean, nasty, the epitome of the "mean nun". And everyone got straight As the eintire year. I don't think we learned a damn thing from her.
Who was your favorite teacher? Mr. Swanson, 6,7 & 8th grade science teacher. He made everything so interesting that you wanted to learn. We had a pet frog, he brought in male & femal praying mantis' so we could actually watch the mating/eating the male process. And he was a super nice guy who related well to his students.
Did you ever fail a class? No, but I came close in Sophmore chemistry. By some miracle (and cheating, I'm ashamed to say  ) I didn't fail.

Who was your worst/meanest/most hated teacher? Why?
I don't remember hating any of my teachers in grade school. The worst teacher was actually in college, he was a "read the book and come to me with any questions" type of teacher. Plus, his method of us doing a homework assignment and then teaching the theories behind the homework AFTER the assignment was due was assbackwards.
Who was your favorite teacher?
I had too many excellent teachers to count, in many subject areas.
Did you ever fail a class?
No, but I did a D in gym because I couldn't run a mile in under 15 minutes even though I was dressed and put forth a lot of effort in P.E. every single class. :lynchmob:

Who was your worst/meanest/most hated teacher? Why?
Dr. Trainor in college. He taught Shakespeare for idiots, basically. I kept doing poorly on tests because i was analyzing the plays and giving him all sorts of explanations. He told me that I was doing a great job of analysis, but he wanted regurgitation instead. This was a college class. I was pissed.
Who was your favorite teacher?
There were a whole bunch. At least 5 came to mind immediately. For the most part what made them great was that they were interested, engaged and cared about their students.
Did you ever fail a class?
Yes. I failed Organic Chemistry the semester after I graduated from college. I took it at another school while I was working full time. I was doing just better than failing when I decided I was over it, and realized that if I failed, I wouldn't have to count it as a school I'd attended, since I'd have no credits at all.

Who was your worst/meanest/most hated teacher? Why? Mrs. LeBlanc, my 4th grade teacher, I just remember that she was mean and I didn't like her. I can't remember exactly how she was mean.
Who was your favorite teacher? Miss Walker, my 1st and 2nd grade teacher. She was nice and fun, and used to give us hugs and play the piano.
Did you ever fail a class? :shuffle: Yes. I failed an intro Anthropology class in college. I had other priorities that sememster (which included seeing how much beer I could drink nightly, among other things) and NEVER went to class. I went the first day, and for the 2 exams we had and that was it. I should have withdrawn, but I thought I could ace the final and that would keep me from failing. I did end up getting an A on the final but it wasn't enough. So so stupid, and totally killed my GPA. My parents do not know about it to this day.

Who was your worst/meanest/most hated teacher? Why? My college music appreciation teacher. One of our assignments was to attend school concerts and give a review. There was one that he didn't believe I'd actually gone to, he told me this in front of a bunch of other students. (Even though I'd stapled the program to my paper, as instructed. He accused me of getting the program from someone else.) He had me in tears, in front of everyone.
Who was your favorite teacher? My high school government teacher. He made the class fun and we all learned quite a bit.
Did you ever fail a class? No, but I came close. As a freshman in high school, they thought I was ready for Algebra II. By the end of the first quarter it was obvious that I about to fail it, so they transferred me to regular Algebra.

Who was your worst/meanest/most hated teacher? Why?
4th grade, Mrs. Starner! She was horrible, she was mean and my mom even tried to get me out of her class. My dad died the summer between 3rd and 4th grade so it was already a rough time. Mrs. Starner was not understanding of my situation at all. She loved to humilate students and did it very well. It didn't help that she also had Marty Feldman eyes.

Who was your favorite teacher? Mrs. Volke, 3rd grade teacher. She was so wonderful to me after my dad died, I begged my mom to make the school hold me back so I wouldn't have the above mentioned bug eyed witch. I also loved my English teacher in high school, Laurie Miller. We still keep in touch via email sometimes.
Did you ever fail a class?
No, not really. I got mono in college and missed almost a month of school so my grade in Algebra was so bad, I just dropped the class so I wouldn't get a failing grade.

Who was your worst/meanest/most hated teacher? Why?
Hmmm....tough call. There was the 1st grade teacher I had whose favorite phrase was "Amy doesn't listen." Nice, huh? Then there was my 3rd grade teacher who would chew me (and other students) out ALL THE TIME. I also remember I was late to school one morning because of a doctor's appointment and I found the entire contents of my desk on the floor. Apparently, she decided my desk was messy and she dumped it in front of the class when I wasn't there. How humiliating! And then there was my horrible 9th grade Algebra II teacher. Nobody understood a thing she taught, and she refused to answer questions if we asked. We were told to take notes and go home and read our notes and we'd figure it out.
Who was your favorite teacher?
In college, it's a toss-up between two. There's Dr. Clements who saved my entire college graduation. I got screwed over by my advisor, he told me not to take a class I needed and take his class instead. I didn't know at the time this was a series of three classes I had to take in order. I found out as I was registering for classes for the fall of my senior year that I really should have taken the class I originally planned to. Anyway, Dr. Clements agreed to teach me the first class over the summer as an independent study. And he let me into another class he was teaching that fall, even though his class was full. He was a great teacher and a wonderful person!
Then there was Dr. McLucas, my Italian professor. The guy was a ton of fun, made learning Italian fun, and he had parties at his house! Of course it was at the parties at his house we figured out he was gay (although we all had our suspicions). I'll just say there was some really interesting art.
Did you ever fail a class?
No, but I came close to failing Algebra II. It wasn't completely my crappy teacher's fault. It was half because I had a stupid Algebra I teacher. I somehow wound up in an Algebra I class where the vast majority of the students hadn't taken pre-Algebra. My teacher spent HALF A YEAR reviewing pre-Algebra, so I went into Algebra II having only had half a year of Algebra I. I was totally lost, and having a teacher who didn't care to help me made it worse.

Who was your worst/meanest/most hated teacher? Why? Hmm, I'm not sure if I ever had a teacher that was "mean", my mom hand picked all my teachers for me, so I had good teachers till high school. I did however have teachers that taught us weird things as fact. Like my third grade teacher taught us that it is a known fact that every star is a sun of it's own solar system and every solar system has a planet like earth with living beings on it. And in 9th grade bio 1 the teachers (all 3 of them) got the students together and had a minister come in and teach creationism, including that dinosaurs and humans walked together and that there is evidence of this that our government has covered up... and the jr. high art teacher believed (he didn't teach as fact, just talked to us a lot about his religion) that our world is just a dream, and when the bigger person who is dreaming it wakes up our world will end, and each second of the big guys dream is like a million years for us...and every time we dream it's a world for smaller people. Can you say crazy?
Who was your favorite teacher? Mr. gunnerson (I had him for world history, anthropology, sociology, and psychology(this one I had it from him in both high school and college).
Did you ever fail a class? Not academically... I did perfectly fine (a 3.75 over all) academically in 8th grade, but my teachers got together and told my mom that I missed too many days to be promoted to high school (I had pneumonia 6 times that year, it was horrid). I begged my mom to pass me, and she did, thank god. I also got a failing grade in citizenship in journalism my junior year...but that just meant STOP room.

Meanest teacher, can't remember her name but she was a witch..a religion teacher who admitted that she judged people on their looks, she said she used to give this one student a hard time because she had a streak in her hair only to find out it was the girls birthmark  whateveh.. I had alot of teachers I hated..at one point in grade 8 I wasn't even allowed in the class..I was to come to school and sit at the office :sigh:
Did I ever fail, yeah I failed a two or three classes but I worked my ass off when I did finally smarten up..I took night school and summer school classes to make it up so I can graduate( a yr late but I got my diploma!)
I did have a fave teacher but again the name escapes me but umm thinking back on some of the things he did with me has me wondering if he didn't have um other motives inmind :shuffle: he took me out of class and brought me to his house that wasn't even built yet to show me around.. that would be unheard of nowaday's.. but he was nice, I even attended his mothers funeral..

Who was your worst/meanest/most hated teacher? Why?
My worst teacher was my Grade 7 and 8 English teacher. I was blessed  to have him for 2 years in a row. It amazes me how rude he was and how he spoke to students. I remember my Dad went to teachers conferences and said that the line up for this teacher was crazy and most of these parents were complaining.
Who was your favorite teacher?
My all time favorite teacher without a doubt was Mrs Johnston. I had her in Grade 4 and 5 (this time I was definitely blessed :) ) She made learning fun and I am certain my love of reading was because of her. When I was a child I wanted to be a teacher and I aspired to be exactly like her.
Did you ever fail a class?
Yup, I sucked at Physics. :(

Who was your worst/meanest/most hated teacher? Why?
She wasn't a horrible teacher, but my 8th grade English teacher was a witch. I don't even remember her name but I can see her face clearly in my head. I was in the top English class and she sat in class one day and told us all that the kids whose birthdays were in summer or early fall (just before the cutoff) were stupid. Yeah, that'd be me and several others in the class and all making As  Whore.
Who was your favorite teacher?
Probably Miss Nancy Henroid in 3rd grade. Such an unfortunate name :giggle: I think we were her 2nd year of teaching and she was so much fun. We learned a song with her name in it and I still remember it to this day. Also, on our 1/2 birthdays she'd come to our house and drive us to dinner at a restaurant and then back to our house. No parents. Never would happen these days. It was so cool though.
Did you ever fail a class?
Nope.

Who was your worst/meanest/most hated teacher? Why?
Worst teacher? I don't remember his last name (strange that I know his first name is Rick though) who was our JV basketball coach and Algebra teacher. It was the beginning of the end of my mathmatical talents. He was a "read page 104 and do the odd numbered problems, we'll have a quiz on Friday" kind of teacher.
Who was your favorite teacher?
Miss Bingert who I had for fourth and fifth grades. She really ignited my love of reading. I remember all sorts of books she read aloud to the class. And she was a big, lovely dovey, which I ate up. :)
Did you ever fail a class?
Nope
