No, I do NOT enjoy moving. I enjoy setting up a new home, but I do NOT enjoy moving :lol:
We have always done it ourselves, with the help of family/friends.

The last time we moved was February of 2005. I do not enjoy moving at all! Our 3 prior moves to this one we did hire movers, but we were just moving w/in our complex (from an apt. to a townhouse) so we tried to do it cheaply, so we rented a Uhaul and enlisted some friends. Not fun.

The last time we moved was August, 2002, when we bought our house. :woot: We plan on dying here (when we're very old people) so hopefully that's the last time ever!

The last time we moved was June 2002. We did it ourselves (with help from friends and family) but we moved from a condo to our house and didn't have that much furniture. Next time since we now have a house full of furniture we will be hiring movers.

We moved here August 01 when I was pg with Riley. That was the way to do it! Be pregnant and you can't lift anything :)

I'd like to stay here forever. I moved a ridiculous amount of times growing up and it was hell. I like that my kids have a place to call "home".

We moved in July of last year, 2007. The last 2 moves we've had movers, as DH's work paid for it all. Thank God because we've acquired a piano and a heavy pool table in the last 2 - 3 years. I'm not looking forward to moving out of this house, because we most likely won't have movers again, since I told Travis we can't move out of this town until our kids are done with school. :lol:

We moved June 29th 2007 when we bought our new house.

I HATE the physical part of moving but enjoy the anticipation of the new place. I hated this move especially because I was pregnant and it made things so much more uncomfortable, I don't know how you got out of the heavy lifting, Shel. No one seemed to give a rats how pregnant I was (poor me, everyone give me a hug :giggle: ) We hired movers to do all the physical moving, but we packed and unpacked everything ourselves :dead: We moved once by ourselves and I refuse to ever do it again, I think the money spent on movers is well worth it, doing it yourself is just a long drawn out process of hell :lol:

I do foresee atleast one more move in our future, we aren't in the suburb we want to be in, so we will eventually be having to the move to our ideal suburb (hopefully within the next 5 years)

We moved on June 15, 2007. Moving itself sucked even though we did hire movers. We did all the packing ourselves. I loved being able to start fresh w/ a new place and I used it as a way to get rid of a lot of crap - and use that as an anti-packrat lesson. The last house we moved into before kids and I found that I was able to set this house up much better knowing what things were like with little people in the house.

I can't imagine this is the house I'll live in forever, but I'd like to stay here as long as the kids are in the public school system.

We last moved July 1999. :faint: It was around the corner, so we didn't hire movers, and we'll never do that again. :lol: I don't care if we move 10 feet, we're hiring professionals!

Aug 07 was our last (of many) moves. Luckily our last few moves have been company-paid so we had movers and didn't have to do any of the physical work- packing, loading, unpacking- ourselves. But there's still the settling in, finding spaces for everything, sorting clothes and kitchen stuff, that is a lot of work even when it's been unpacked for you.

I hate moving. HATE it.

I moved in October 2007. I didn't hire movers, my dad and brothers moved me. My oldest brother said that when I move out he will pay the movers for me :lol2:

We moved last April ( a year ago next week actually). I actually got out of alot of it because my dad has just been in his accident and I was helping take care of him still!
We didn't hire movers because we were moving from our apt to the house, so we weren't moving with too much stuff.
The next time we move will be out of state (hopefully across the country) so we'll for sure hire movers!

We moved in to this house in January 2002. I hate moving and looks like we won't be doing it again for awhile seeming as we are getting a pool :)

We moved into our current house a little over a year ago. I like moving. I've never hired professionals...I have two brothers. :lol: DH broke his wrist the day before we got a contract on our last house, so I did most of the packing for the move to our current house, and it wasn't so bad at all. We enlisted a bunch of his friends and my younger brothers, and the move was no problem, even with DH's broken wrist and it was snowing that day too. :lol: I moved four times in six years, and finally am in a place where we'll be staying put for quite awhile. My brothers are probably ecstatic to not have to move my two ridiculously huge and heavy sofas anymore. :lol:

We moved in June 2006 - we hired movers. We moved about 30 minutes away. I don't like moving but this is the last time til we're very very old. Because this was our first home - and because we have a good amount of storage space - it made the move somewhat exciting.

The time before that I was 8 months pregnant, so everything was packed by / moved by movers and we even had others to clean the apartment. Now that's the way to do it! ;-)

Do you typically hire movers/packers or do it all yourself? We packed ourselves with some help from friends. We hired movers for the furniture & most of the boxes and we also rented a van to move the stuff we didn't trust the movers to move.

We moved in October and November of 2005, I say that because our stuff was packed by the movers in late October, we were without home for about four weeks. We first stayed with my parents, then took a vacation to Memphis to see my sister. Then Reed had to report to Fort Lee, so we stayed in a hotel for a little over a week. THAT was fun I'll tell you! Then we took possession of the house, but we didn't get our stuff for another week.

The nice thing about a bare house was it is SO easy to paint! I painted three rooms in three days. I was SO excited when I saw the moving van bring our stuff the day before Thanksgiving. I started jumping up and down. The movers brought everything in and unpacked a little, but I was happy to do the better part of the unpacking, that way things were still neatly in boxes while I found a place for all the nic-naks.

We're moving again this summer. Hopefully, it will be the last move for a while. Unfortunately, it will be a move in two stages again. We'll have our stuff packed up, put into storage and probably won't see the bulk of our things until late this year when we buy a house. :woo:

Do you typically hire movers/packers or do it all yourself? We do the packing ourselves but definitely hire movers. Have used the same company since when James bought his first house and I moved to a different apartment.

We last moved in November 2002. It was a really easy move - moving from an apartment, so not too much stuff, and no house to sell. We were flexible on our moving dates (which was good since our house was ready late), the new house was just 10 min. away and we didn't have kids. I'm sure the next move will be much more stressful.

The last time I moved was 12/30 and 12/31 of '06 when my ex and I officially separated. I hate moving, even under happier circumstances. I hate the packing and unpacking, all of it. I usually just recruit some friends to help and buy them beer and pizza or something for their efforts.

Do you enjoy moving? I loved moving from an apartment into my new house, but man o man I don't like all the work!

Do you typically hire movers/packers or do it all yourself? We did it ourselves, but I had two young, strong brothers and their high school football playing friends help with all the heavy lifting. My mom is a packing machine and did the lion's share of packing at my apartment. But having been here more than 10 years and the addition of three kids, and the loss of my brothers' muscle power, we'd hire movers at least.

Do you enjoy moving? I hate moving. It's such a pain. I told Phil that he is burying me in the backyard because I am not moving again.

Do you typically hire movers/packers or do it all yourself? We did it ourselves, and usually enlist a few friends. Last time we moved we had a month between closing on our old place and moving into the new one, so we got one of those PODS where you place everything in a big box-type contraption, they come and take it to storage for you. It really saved us from having to move twice.

Generally, I hate the work involved in moving, but loved moving here b/c it was our first house, and I am sure I'll love our next move whenever that happens b/c we've outgrown this place.

Our last move was in Jan '06. We've never hired movers. That's the beauty of having a husband who's a firefighter... tons of free help! :lol: So we had about burly firefighters moving our shit. I hardly had to do a thing. :aok: :)

Oh and besides getting to look at before mentioned cutie firefighters, I HATE moving. :dead: We don't plan on moving again anytime soon.
