With spring starting to show it's colors what is one thing you can't wait to bloom?

Our lilacs! We've got a couple of really nice bushes.. are they bushes? or trees? ours aren't too tall. But, they look so pretty (and are right in front of our house) and smell yummy!!!
Alot of our smaller stuff like snapdragons and pansies have already bloomed!

Spring? Colors showing? Where?
All I've seen so far is my bulbs coming up near the house.
Otherwise, still looking at dead grass and trees LOL.

Um, I have a foot of snow covering my dead grass. So if there are signs of life, we'd never know. But I doubt there are, because my guess is that the ground is still frozen solid.
How's that for spring?

What's spring? I don't think it is coming this year:mope:

My magnolia tree, and I'm with Alyson on the lilacs as well. I have purple, white and yellow lilacs, and they should all be blooming for the first time this year!! They seemed to handle their transplant well last summer, so let's hope I see some blooms this year!

:hug99: Karri.
The same is true for Maine, which is where I'm anxiously awaiting spring. Since we bought our home there last August, I have no idea what (if anything) might pop up in the yard this spring!

Our hyacinths, daffodils, and crocuses have already bloomed. :bolt:
I always look forwards to the cherry blossoms and my lilacs.

I'm with Karri and Deb! Though THANK GAWD most of the snow seems to be gone. Finally. The ground is either frozen or muddy depending on the temps. Absolutely NO signs of spring here at all despite my constant searching.
I threatened my Mom with bodily harm about 3 weeks ago when she mentioned the flower count in Victoria BC was 2.4 million and that my Dad went golfing 3 times one week.

We have tulips growing in the front yard. We didn't live here last spring, so it will be interesting to see what comes up.

We just moved in at the end of summer so I'm not sure what all will happen in our yard. We had some really pretty pink flowers bloom two weeks ago (they are all over town, no idea what they are) :dunno: and lots of little white trees are blooming now.

:hug99: Karri, Deborah, Bev & all the rest of you living in snowlands :(
Our grass is finally starting to look a little green. On our way back from Houston we noticed some bluebonnets & Indian paintbrushes sprouting here & there, I'm looking forward to seeing them blooming all over our roads :)

Everyone around here has green grass because they've been fertilizing and sprinkling like mad! (except for us) I'm so glad to hear the bluebonnets haven't peaked yet... we wanted to take a drive last week and it didn't happen and I was afraid we'd missed them!

Cami, I've been meaning to ask you if you knew about those flowers since we saw them all over Houston, they were beautiful pink bushes full of them all over the place. If you find out let me know, I would like to put some in our front yard even though I'm not sure if they'll work here since it's not as humid as in Houston

My dad said they were probably azaleas but he didn't actually see them... he said that based on my description of "bright pink flowers on big bushes" I googled azalea and they do look pretty much like that.

IIRC, we were out there in April last year and the bluebonnets were in full bloom.
I can't wait for my tulips to pop up. I  tulips.

The ones that came out on google do look like the ones we saw last week, I'll have to see how well they grow in our part of TX... thanks! And yes, you haven't missed the bluebonnets (or "bonnets" like Eliot just to called them :giggle: ). I think I heard that there is a town near Houston (maybe 70 or so miles) that has some kind of bluebonnet fest or something like that... hmm, maybe I should check on it before trying to tell you about it
Karri, really? more snow?? I'm so sorry :hug99:

Looking forward to our forsythia trees blooming - there is one right outside the kitchen window and I love seeing the yellow flowers. We have some kind of magnolia tree but last year a late frost got it, so I have no idea what it'll look like.
Enjoy the bluebonnets for me. Miss them.

:phew: The snow missed me. Sorry Deb!
Hmm, I'm looking forward to our tree out front. It is a Japanese ivory silk lilac or some such thing. The city planted it inour yard and last year was the first spring we had it. It took some figuring out to find out what it was because the guys who planted it in the winter didn't know.

I'm also looking forward to lilacs, tulips and other spring/summer flowers. Not that I have any in my yard.

We don't get spring flowers here, which makes me sad since they're my favorite. My live oak tree in my backyard burst forth with new leaves in the last couple of weeks, which is always my sign that spring has sprung. The tree generally loses masses of leaves in January and gets buds in early Feb. and in late Feb./early March has all new leaves.
As for blooms, not a lot is going on. Our annuals will all die in the next month or so.The u-pick strawberry places will be done in a month. We do get a lot of tropicals blooming in the next six months, but none of the things typically thought of as spring or summertime plants.

I love the cherry blossom trees here, especially when there's a whole street lined with them, it looks so pretty. I have seen several either blossoming already or with buds ready to blossom soon.
