Our blender bit the dust. It was a wedding gift and was a POS. So, I'm on the hunt and thought I would ask here if anyone has a blender or smoothie maker that they love and recommend.

We've been on the hunt for one as well.. ours started smoking out the bottom, so we trashed it. My sister and BIL got this for a wedding gift and LOVE it! we're considering it now...

We have a Kitchenaid blender (similar to the one above) that we got for our wedding 7+ years ago. I LOVE it. LOVE IT! It does ice like no one's business (margaritas, baby!) and frozen fruit comes out smooth as cream.

That's what my sister said.. and is why we're going to get this one!

That looks like the updated version of the one we just had. It sucked! The base was so heavy, it never sat right on the counter - like the cord was in the way and sat off balance, and it didn't do a very good job at crushing.

I am planning to buy an immersion blender soon. Might not be as good for margartas (no ice crushing) but I've heard great things about their ease of use and cleanup.
I was looking at something like:

Alyssa, we used to have something like that (we lost it in the move somehow) and I loved it! I actually did use it for ice (not sure if I was supposed too) and it worked pretty well. (I did only use crushed ice though)
I'd like to get another one as well as a new blender.
Weird Sandy, I wonder if there was a difference in the 2? Or how old was yours, I suppose they've improved since you got yours?...

Wow Sandy. I can't complain about mine at all :dunno:
I have a handheld immersion and love it. Its great for a smoothie (but i don't put ice in mine), mashed potatoes, and cream soups.

We picked this up at Costco last week, basically to get us by until we can decide what we really want! So far it's working great, it's even doing ice perfectly.. for now! And, it was only $29.99.

I'm thinking we'll still get the one mentioned before.. but just can't decide!!
