Did you have a busy holiday or were you able to relax and just enjoy the day?

We were busy on Saturday since we had our family over for Easter lunch and egg hunt. Yesterday, we were able to relax. We went out for breakfast and then came home and took it easy. :)

Not too busy. I woke up with major cramps on Sunday and thought I wouldn't make it to church, but I sucked it up, took 4 advil and made it! My mom cooked the majority of the dinner so I just arrived early to help her out. It was a nice day.

Not too bad. Church in the morning - I had a long solo at the end of the cantata and came down with a sinus/upper respiratory infection on Thursday night... I was pretty upset b/c I sounded so bad. After that, we went to my parents for easter lunch/dinner and some basketball, along with a massive egg hunt

For ONCE we got to actually relax! We woke up, did the EB egg hunt, let Brookelyn open her stuff. Then we met my dad and Grandma for breakfast and they followed us home. They stayed here until noon, left and then my mom came over. (her family was all everywhere, so nobody did anything together for Easter, which actually made it easier on us! And, my sister had to work so we didn't see them) I actually cut my moms hair lol.. and we just hung out and played with some of Brookelyn's new stuff. Around 3 we left for Matt's grandma's. There were only 9 of us there this year, so it was nice and laid back and quiet for a change! Had dinner and came home.... It was nice to not be running around like chickens with our heads cut off for once!!

We were busy.
We did the egg hunt/basket hunt in the morning. Then we went to church. When we came home we had to get a bunch of stuff together. Then we met my brother and his family at my dad's nursing home. We had to load him into our car and we took him to my uncle's for dinner. We hung out there for about 4 hours and then we had to take him back.

Busy...
Friday ~ IL's house. They did an egg hunt for the boys....NOTHING in the eggs though  and nothing was given later.
Saturday~ Parent's house for Chinese dinner and to see my brother, SIL and nephew. They left Sunday morning to go back to Windsor to be with SIL's family.
Sunday ~ Egg hunt here...then back to my parents house for another egg hunt and dinner.
Was very nice :) Both boys crashed every night with NO arguments :woo:

It was crazy busy on Sunday. We got up and went to church and then I served at second service. Once I got home I had to prepare the deviled eggs and take a trip north which took about an hour. We got to my grandparents as they were fininsing with dinner. We stayed for a couple hours and then had to hall butt back home to visit with his parents. We didn't get home until around 8pm and with my aunt flo coming in that morning it made for a very long and crampy day. I was exhausted and in bed by 9. I ended up taking today off so I could relax.

Not too bad. After Sarah looked at her Easter basket, we went out to breakfast with FIL. Then we went to dinner at my parents' house around 5. We stayed kind of late because my mom didn't even start dessert until Sarah's usual bedtime. And since Sarah was up in the middle of the night the night before with an earache, we weren't thrilled with staying late. Needless to say, by the time we got home, she was a shrieking, overtired mess.

Not too bad - pretty typical for us. Saturday afternoon we went out to my parents house and had easter w/ them, my brothers, etc, and grandparents, and aunt, uncle & cousin. The kids were very well behaved and had a nice time just hanging out w/ their relatives.
Sunday I was sick as a dog w/ some upper repsiratory thing, so after we got up and did the whole EB shebang, we layed around and then in the afternoon, Chris took the kids to the ILs for easter there. I stayed home by myself. It was both very peaceful and nice to relax, and kind of sad, not hanging w/ my kids and husband on easter :(

Pretty relaxed. Saturday Eliot had baseball practice, Blair took him & he also took Ian so that I could go get some Easter stuff for the boys since I didn't had a chance before we went out ot town. Other than that I got done loads of laundry from our trip :dead:
Sunday we got up, did the EB thing & then went to our neighbor's house for early dinner. All I had to bring were rolls & dessert, I made an Easter egg cake.

Saturday we went to my parents where we had lunch out to celebrate my mom's birthday. Then we did an egg hunt for the girls. My SIL ended up going out to the mall for an hour or so.
Sunday was all about the EB before church. Went to mass and came home and relaxed. Got everything ready to go to my ILs where we had another egg hunt and a big dinner.
I am exhausted!

Half and half. We had two egg hunts on Saturday, Sunday was half busy with dinner and all and then we just relaxed. Today I've been running around like a mad-woman though. :gah:

Too busy for my taste!
The kids got up around 7am. We had a quick Easter egg hunt and got baskets. Then we had a quick breakfast. Tom and I showered and everyone got dressed "in their Sunday finest." We were out the door by 8:45am. We drove straight to my parents' church (45 minute drive) and got their on the early side. That was good since Jessica needed a diaper change and Nathaniel needed to use the potty. Church was from 10-11:15am. We hung out at coffee hour for a while. Then we went to my parents' house for more Easter baskets. The kids played outside for awhile. We had lunch reservations at 1pm with my parents' friends. Lunch took f-o-r-e-v-e-r and the service was very slow. We finally left around 3:30pm and headed home. We got home around 4:30. No nap for either child and WAY too much sugar.

We relaxed...we got up with the kids at their usual wake up time. Found baskets then found eggs. Last year after Easter I had bought 3 easter egg game sets...so after you find the eggs there is a game to play with them, pin the tail on the bunny, charades, and a musical hot potato type thing, so we played those once we found the eggs, charades was fun!
After that we made breakfast... gluten free, egg free, dairy free (ie taste free) pancakes for Travis, which he LOVED, and egg bake and cinnamon rolls for everyone else (but me, I can't have eggs because of travis, I ate left overs. ).
After breakfast we went to the Zoo, the zoo keepers hid eggs for the animals to find in their cages, that was fun. The lions completely ignored theirs, guess they don't like hard boiled eggs.
Then we came home and just hung out for the rest of the day.

Saturday was pretty lowkey. We just had gymnastics in the morning.
Sunday we went over to the ILs for brunch, egg hunt, etc. Before we left, we gave Genavieve her basket. Brad and I left the ILs as soon as we could b/c both of us were suffering from allergies horribly even though we both took allergy medicine. We got home around 245 and put G down for a nap and we both slept until 5. Then we had dinner and watched Peter Pan ( Peter Pan was in Genavieve's Easter basket.)

Even though the holiday I am talking about is Purim and not Easter ...
I did enjoy the day but relax... nope. No time for that.
In the evening I was busy getting the kids dressed in their costumes and go to Shul and listen to the reading of the Book of Esther. Then I took the girls to the kids Purim party of our Shul. (Yehuda and Yumi stayed home watching a BB game on TV.) Got home after 9 pm, put the kids to bed and went to an adult Purim party at 10:30 pm. We had a great time there. Got home around 1 am.
On Purim Day it was pretty busy because Purim fell on Friday. That meant that everything had to be ready for Shabbat as usual AND the Purim things had to be done as well. We got up and had breakfast. Then I got the kids into their costumes, took the kids to hand out our Shlachmones (baskets for other people) - we drove to ILs, DH's grandparents, SIL and friends of ours. We got back at 11 am. (TG there is one Shul basket that is from everyone to everyone...) Then I had to cook and clean for Shabbat and prepare a Purim meal. Shabbat started at 5:30 pm.
Busy? YESSIR! Enjoyable? Yes, that too. Seeing the kids excited about their costumes and sweets was great.

Busy for us.
On Saturday afternoon, my mom decided she wanted to throw an Easter Party. (but also Lauryn's birthday party- but we didn't want people to bring gifts so we said Easter party). We spent Saturday afternoon running around costco and the grocery store. I even made a cake from scratch.
Sunday we had about 15 people over (7 kids) Had an easter egg hunt etc.
It was fun.
