Last day of March Break. We survived!!

Tomorrow, we're going to the annual Open House at my alma matter. It is crazy fun, and there is SO much to do. The Food Science students sell $1 milkshakes, the Veterenary students have a "teddy bear surgery" where kids can bring a stuffed animal in and assist in a surgery on them, the agricultural barns are opened up for tours, there are livestock shows, and all of the clubs and programs have displays. Anna is so excited to go back!

Sunday... church, and then who knows? :)

Typeing still with one hand. I had the stitches removed from my Carpal Tunnel Surgery yesterday and I have to keep my brace on my hand forever I think  I am having the other hand done on April 8th! I do have feeling so that is awesome.

As for this weekend..Well..it is St. Pats weekend so we have our HUGE green party tonight. All food green all people where St. Pat shirts..I think we might even be spending the night  Even Charlotte has an outfit! Can't wait to get all the kids together for a picture. Tomorrow Tylor plays his drum at a spaghetti dinner for a band bennefit and then they will go to my grandpa's with my parents. Sunday My choir sings in church and I think that is all we are doing.

Next week the kids only go to school Monday through Thursday and then Friday will be our big Easter Egg Hunt!

We don't have any big plans. We might go to Disneyland tonight, not sure yet. Tomorrow probably doing stuff around the house and hanging out. Sunday, nothing, really.. but dinner at the IL's for BIL's birthday.

It's a busy weekend for us seeming as it's St Patrick's day on Monday. Tonight Emily danced at an Irish pub. Tomorrow is a normal day, tennis for the boys in the morning, dance class for Em in the afternoon. Sunday is the St Patrick's Day parade and concert (which she isn't involved in but we will watch) then she dances at another pub that evening. Monday she is having the day off school and dancing in pubs all day as well as at the Children's Hospital in the Starlight Room.

Oh so sweet nothing planned

Fridays have turned into official "movie night" at our house where we watch a family movie together.

The rest of the weekend we have no official plans.

David's working all weekend (back to every other weekend of no-husband!) At some point I need to go to the grocery store and somewhere to buy Riley a jacket since her others are all too small. Growth spurt anyone? Other than that, I'll probably clean house and do laundry. Boring.

My mom and I are doing our usual Friday night Gilmore Girls(we watch 4 episodes and eat treats). Tomorrow my mom and I and Olivia are going to a Mom2Mom sale and then I want to run to BRU to get a "Baby's 1st Easter" outfit for my nephew, and the FP Aquarium crib thingy for Livvy for Easter. We also need to buy our oven before the sales run out. Sunday is church and that's it. Should be a nice weekend. Oh, and dh took his second "specimen" into the urologist and there are STILL sperm in it!!!!:faint: It's been almost 5 months. So, I'm sure we'll fit in :boink: a couple of times this weekend. He's pretty ticked. He said he's going to get carpel tunnel from :wank: so much.:giggle:

The only thing new is the birth of my nephew Benjamin!!

Nothing special tonight. Tomorrow the only thing we have planned is a BJ's trip first thing in the morning to stock up. Sunday morning we're going to breakfast with FIL and that night is my niece's birthday party.

The only other thing I want to share is that the nursery is finally ready! I also did some big time house cleaning today (no, I'm not nesting, my mom came over to help me clean).

Tomorrow we will probably run errands. There's a town wide Easter Egg Hunt, but it is usually mobbed and if it is too cold I will avoid it.

Sunday-Palm Sunday breakfast at the ILs.

Monday-Checkin' out QVC's St. Patrick's Day stuff and then corned beef and cababge in the evening!

Alysia
March 14th, 2008, 05:24 PM
ooooh I should get some corned beef for Monday! I didnt even think about that. What could I do instead of cabbage though? DH won't touch cabbage.

We don't have alot planned. My au pair's family is making a Swedish lunch for us on Saturday. Tom has to drive them to the airport on Saturday night.
Beyond that it'll depend on the weather. If it's nice we might go to the Bronx Zoo...

Melissa- It took me forever to read your post. I got distracted by the smilies! :giggle:

Last night we found out that Reed didn't get promoted, but that is OK because now we know he'll be retired by the end of the year. However, I've been promoted to be the FRG leader instead of the activity coordinator. It will give me some more work to do, but that's OK, we want to get this thing off the ground and the person in charge now is just not cutting it.

Katie had a playdate this afternoon, tomorrow she has a birthday party and Sunday we will likely go to Busch Gardens for their "passmember preview day." In the middle, I have to buy corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, and guinness. :lick: Maybe some green cupcakes too.

Oh, madness. Today I helped at Caroline's school in the afternoon for their "Last Supper" (pita bread, cheese, raisins, peanuts, grape juice) - they were all very impressed by the darkened classroom and flickering candles. DH just took Caroline out to buy Powerball tickets and get dinner, I begged off because I'm nursing a headache and just want to lay on the sofa.

Nothing happening tomorrow, but Sunday I'm taking Caroline to see "Horton Hears a Who" - we were going to go to the Baltimore St. Patrick's Day parade down Charles Street, but it's going to be 31 degrees!

Melissa

Tonight I'm working, DH and kids watching movies. Tomorrow morning (starting bright and early at 7:30  ) DH is doing Habitat for Humanity with work. Tomorrow evening I'm working while the kids and DH try to swim for the first time this year! Sunday morning we'll go to church and then to the St. Patrick's Day parade. Anne, I'm  because it's supposed to cool off here by Sunday so it'll be nice and pleasant (in the 70s) for the parade. Sunday afternoon DH is going to a Houston Rockets basketball game (which apparently is a big deal b/c they are on a big winning streak) and I have to work (again).

Happy Anniversary Alyson!!

Ah, Friday.

Tonight the boys and I are doing nothing. Joe is working locally so should be home by 10:30, but I doubt I'll stay up that long. :heee:

Tomorrow our town's having an easter egg hunt, which the boys and I willl go to unless it's really icky weather...which is possible. Then we're going to run errands and do nothing tomorrow night. Joe's in NY so I'm solo anyway.

Sunday we have a birthday party (princess theme, the boys are stoked!) and Aidan has baseball clinic. I have my fantasy baseball draft ( :woo: ) so I have some studying to do. :awink:

I needed a new one a few weeks ago when we went to a hotel w/ a pool, but it was too much effort to shop for a bathing suit. :dead: I tend to just go to TJ Maxx, Marshalls, etc. b/c they have such a range, although last year I bought one at Sears that I started loving and then it broke w/in a month...and it was like 3x the price of the ones I usually buy at the other discount stores. :disbelief

Alyssa, out of the ones from JCP the only one I don't like is the peach one - for some reason it just doesn't seem like a swimsuit if it doesn't have some black, wrong-headed though that sounds. So the peach one looks like you forgot your bathing suit and decided to just go swimming in your tank top and skort.

Cami
March 15th, 2008, 12:59 AM
Anne, do you mean the plaid print one? I like that print if it was a different style. I don't like the bigger shorts like that either. Of course if I had those boobs, I think I could be happy in any swimsuit.

Does anyone else find it as depressing as I do that we are ogling over swimsuits that I would have called "old lady suits" a few years ago? :mope: And even worse, that I'm doing this at midnight on a Friday night. :loser:

I'll probably need a new suit post-partum. Ugh! I like a lot of the skirted ones. I had a boyshort suit a while ago and it was really nice on the hips. I looked at JCPenney and cringed at the prices. Hopefully I can find something comparable at Ross or Marshall's. Or maybe something will be on sale later in the season and available in my size (wishful thinking, I know).

At least I probably only need maybe one suit. The pool we joined last summer changed the rules and kids in swim diapers are no longer allowed in the main pool. I wasn't sure how I was going to manage an infant and a three-year-old by myself at a pool, and the fact that I'd essentially be paying over $400 to have Sarah play in the baby pool pretty much sealed the deal. We'll get a really nice blow-up pool for the backyard and let the kids play in that.

Something like this:
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41WXEYBD6BL._SS384_.jpg

I can also take the kids to the gym on certain days. One location of our gym actually has an outdoor pool. I'll just have to take my brother or my mom with me.

Bathing suit shopping!!! I love alot of the skirted ones. I was considering one for this summer at the beach. I got a great boy short one at Marshall's last summer. Their prices mid-summer were fantastic. I think I got both pieces for $13.99 total.

One of my best deals was at Ocean State Job Lot (for the locals). I found an L.L. Bean suit for $15. I'm going to check again this season.

I'm so rarely in a pool that I'm fine w/ the suit I got 2 years ago. I don't know how to find out if there is a local pool that we can get Anya to. There is a REALLY nice YMCA near us - but we don't live in the towns that are allowed to use it. And the Y that we'd be able to join doesn't have a pool.

We actually got out of the house today! Went for lunch at a non-chain Mexican restaurant that recently opened. Same as the other one, DH says it's about the best he'd find in Pittsburgh but that if it was in Texas he wouldn't go there again. I think this one is slightly better than the other local small chain. And, altho the house salsa is somewhat bland their "hot" salsa was ... spicy. So we decided that a 2 to 1 mix was the best combo to make good salsa.

Of course the downside to this is that we got Anya in for a nap VERY late - and most of the time was spent crying, with maybe 30 minutes of sleep followed by a 30 minute meltdown. Lovely :lol2:

Check to see if your local Y has the AWAY program. It stands for Always Welcome At (the) YMCA. That means your local membership should be good for neighboring YMCAs.

I had a crappy night last night. Sarah got overtired (my fault, lost track of time), and has a cold. I gave her Sudafed and put the humidifier on in her room to keep her comfy. But she shrieked and wailed when I put her down. I let her yell for a little bit, but she wouldn't stop or let up. I can't lay with her now because I can hardly get in and out of my own bed and I know I can't manage hers because of the bars. So I laid with her on the sofa, which was not terribly comfy. She finally calmed down and I got her back into bed. She yelled a few more times overnight, but calmed down before I could get her.

Then this morning she was running a 101.2 fever. Thankfully it's down thanks to Motrin and she's her usual self. I hope it stays that way!

Man, I meant to at least do a green dessert today (we're having chicken noodle soup since we're all sick), but I totally forgot. So Caroline and I stopped at Baskin Robbins and got mint chocolate chip ice cream just to balance it out and to medicate our throats. Oh yuh-huh ice cream is medicine!

I have to buy a new thermometer too - both of ours are starting to give deranged answers. I knew I had a fever due to a headache, burning eyes, chills, etc. I took it with the oral thermometer in our bathroom and got a reading of 92.4. Then I took it with Caroline's ear thermometer and got a reading of 109! (around 106 you pass out, hallucinate, heart damage, etc.) So I went with an average of 101 or so and Adviled myself.
