OK, so it's been years since I built a "fort" in the living room but do you do that? I was trying to make an impromtu fort for Anya - throw a couple of blankets over the couch, end tables, etc, but I'm not good at it any more. :giggle: Any tricks? Sheets instead of light blankets? What do you use to hold the fabric down?

Yep, we do that :) I use a large quilt and drape it over a couple of dining room chairs and the girls climb under the chairs to get inside. I make sure there is enough of the quilt hanging over the sides for balance so that it doesn't cave in on them.

lol - I've got one in the living room right now. Actually, come to think of it, there's one downstairs too.
We usually weight the ones that have the couch/loveseat involved with the large throw pillows. Dining room ones are draped over chairs and the table and usually don't need anything for weight.
Downstairs I have an old curtain rod hanging by two small nylon ropes that are hooked to eyelets in the ceiling. On the curtain rod are two old sheets pinned up so it looks like a tent.

"old school" here ... when i stayed at my grandmother's ... i used TV trays ... lined them up like a tunnel and covered them with quilts ...
this thread brought back memories ... i had forgotten about "forts" ... and now know that when my buddy is back for the summer ... we are gonna make a fort ...
