View Full Version : What to get my sister?

I need some help. My sister's birthday is Saturday and I do not have any idea of what to get her. When she wants something, she buys it! She has tons of lotions and stuff like that, and isn't big on jewelry. She's going to be 27 and just had her first baby (Olyvia in Dec). I'd rather not do a gc for a restaurant or anything because they don't really have a babysitter right now. I also don't want to get her clothes, because she's inbetween after just having had the baby!
Thanks:)

What about a GC for spa treatment or GC for a clothing store where she likes to shop (she might want to get some things for Spring). I know those were my favourite things to get after having a baby.

If you're not going to be seeing her : Flowers? Every year for my sisters bday since she turned 19 I've ALWAYS gotten her a big bouquet of flowers and had them delivered to her wherever she was. One year she did that for me and the flower shop included a box of chocolates which was a treat!

Spa treatment sounds fabulous. A massage would be wonderful.
Or paying for her next haircut/manicure/pedicure.
I usually get my sisters accessory type things: handbags or sexy shoes. Clothing sizes change, but their shoe sizes are pretty consistent. We also have similar taste, so it's easy.
You can also spring for a house cleaning service. I would LOVE that.
I guess it depends on your budget.

Wow.. these are all such great ideas.. butttt.. lol
She lives about 2.5 hrs away and I'd have NO idea where to get her a gc for a spa at.. esp since I can't go down there and get it! haha
She JUST had her haircut, which actually annoys me because I ALWAYS cut her hair.. and now she wants me to 'fix' it.. she shouldn't have gone to this place anyway! Same problem as above with gc for pedicure, etc!
She's got a few very nice purses and isn't the type to change and she's one of those people that you just 'can't' buy shoes for.. lol.
A house cleaning service would be tricky too, because of our distance and becasue they live on base so I'm not sure how that'd work!
Now that I've shot down all of your ideas!! lol.. sorry. They're great:)
Just not sure what I'll get... I'd better start thinking though haha.

If you don't know what place to get the GCs at, just get a Visa GC and tell her to use it for the spa or cleaning.

Is she a Hello Kitty fan? I know it sounds childish, but I am a huge fan and just saw some really cute items...
What is your sister like? Conservative and serious? Whimsical? Practical? Organized? Dressy? Casual? Very picky?
Knowing what she is like will help us...

Nocona I hadn't thought of the Visa GC, good idea.. thanks!
Kika.. she's not a Hello Kitty fan. She's very picky, somewhat anal, conservative in some ways but not in others LOL.. gee, she sounds lovely ha? Really she's great, it's just hard because she goes out and buys what she wants!
I think I may get her a visa GC and go to Joann's and get her some 'baby girl' and 'wedding' scrapping supplies, I know she'll be working on both of her books soon.
