I wasn't sure where best to put this, but after a phone call I got today from a friend who is expecting who had a couple questions for me, I was reminded of this. We did this with both of the kids, figured I'd share...
Make-your-own-baby-wipes
Take a roll of paper towel (I found the Bounty Select-a-Size Rolls to be the best) and cut it in half so that you have what looks like two rolls of toilet paper.
Place one of the halves into a tupperware type container. (http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j59/smbka_1/01-17-08_1234.jpg)
Mix approximately 2 to 2 1/2 cups warm water with 2 to 3 tablespoons 'head to toe' baby wash, and if you like a couple drops of baby oil as well. Pour the soapy water evenly over the paper towel.
Remove the center cardboard, and voila... a self-dispensing roll of wipes that costs less than 20% of the ones you'd buy at the store. And honestly, I liked them better too. For a while after we were done with diapers, I was still using them for wiping things off in the kitchen and bathroom.
