Any recommendations for good (but not hideously expensive) sheets that will stay on a pillowtop mattress? I think I need ones that have the elastic down the sides of the mattress (not just along the top.)
I had Pottery Barn sheets (which do fall into the kind of expensive department...at least for me) on the bed and they fit GREAT...but then I moved that bedding (and the matching sheets) to the guest bed. Our current sheets are barely staying on the mattress and don't look too great.
Any suggestions?

Land's End sheets. They have nice deep pockets and IMO are wonderful. They also have all sorts of different weights and fabrics and colors. I only have an LLBean duvet cover, but if their sheets are anything like this duvet cover, they would be a worthwhile investment as well. Our cover has been on our bed for the last two years and has held up to frequent washings (when we let the dog sleep on the bed), as well as being extra generous in size.
Those are my suggestions!

LL bean sheets are wonderful! They stay on our pillow topped mattress wonderfully, and they hold up to very frequent washings.
Good luck!

I bought Egyptian Cotton sheets at Kohl's. I forgot the thread count. They have the 18" deep pockets and fit great. I think I paid about $70 for queen.

We have some great sheets from Sams Club - really soft cotton, elatstic all around, and so very comfy. I don't know exactly what they cost, but I am pretty sure it was no more than $50/queen.
