How long were your kid(s) rear facing in their car seat?

Anya is still rear-facing at almost 2. However we had to move her seat from the center, to the side, to make room for the baby's car seat too. The seat was poking into the driver's seat, so Justin changed the level of recline and now her feet have even less room. He wants to turn her forward facing but I want to keep her rear facing as long as we can. She's still under the weight / height limits for her seat.

Its been so long that my memory is kinda foggy. I think that Aidan was somewhere between 15-16 months, and the twins were 20 months. I only turned the twins b/c they were fighting w/ their brother and I couldn't take it anymore.

We flipped Camille at a year when she met the requirements.

I can't remember exactly with Jackson, but I'm pretty sure it was around 15 months - at that point he was well over the 20lbs.

Anna didn't hit 20lbs until she was 16 months, so I turned her then. Even though she doesn't weigh a lot she is long so she seemed really uncomfortable rear facing.

We flipped Riley around 16-17 months. She's never really weighed that much, so it took her awhile to meet the requirements.

Jeremy was turned around right after he turned 1. It was easier for me to get him what he needed when he was front-facing. He met all the requirements, so we switched him then.

Alex was about 15 months. He hit 20lbs. at 12 months, but I wanted to keep him the safest for as long as possible. We flipped him because he started getting really fussy and whiny in the car.....which stopped as soon as we turned him around. :)

We flipped David at 1 year because he was at the requirements plus he was to long to be rear facing any more.

Nikita was 21 lbs at a year old, but I believe I switched him at about 13-14 months? i can't recall exactly..

With Kenny it was right at his first birthday. Nicholas and Layla were about 20 months because they were so much smaller. The only reason I switched Layla before 2 years was because she would scream and cry the entire time she was in it because she couldn't see me. Drove me crazy.

Aidan and Colin were turned pretty much on their 1st birthday. We waited longer with Seamus - I think he was 17-18 months. We'd just heard a lot more about that by that point and he liked watching his brothers in the back seat anyway.

Tylor was 18 months when we switched him. That is when he finally hit 20 months. Alyssa was still in her infant carrier until she was 16 months and that is when we switched her around. I believe she hit 20 lbs right around then also but I might be wrong.

We switched Dylan right over a year. His feet and legs were so crammed in that he was miserable.

Janelle-3 years
Kincaid- 18 months

Travis will probably be closer to Janelle in age. We only turned Janelle around cause Kincaid hit the height limit rear facing on his roundabout and we didn't think she'd be ok with rear facing when her little brother already turned around. Travis is short short short not even on the growth charts at all for height, he's shorter at 4 months than Janelle was at this point, still on the lowest strap setting on his infant carrier and needs to grow quite a bit more before we can change that, so he'll be rear facing till at least 3.

Ohh Kincaid weighed 20lbs at 1 and I think 22lbs at 18 months? Janelle weighed 21 lbs at 3.

I turned them all forward before they hit their first birthday. I know it's against the rules, but they screamed every time they got in the car and wouldn't stop. I think they were all around 11 months or so. Both Caroline and Tatum were WAY over 20 lbs. Courtney was probably not.

Emma was around 16 months when we turned her. She didn't reach 20lbs until then. We haven't turned Christine yet (she is 14 months and 18lbs). I am guessing we will turn her by the Spring.

I turned all three around on their first birthdays. I couldn't stand the screaming any more.

Connor and Lilly were around 20 months -- at that point, Lilly still wasn't 20 lbs, but we got the okay from the pediatrician and went ahead and did it. Brendan was about 18 months.

Rayna was at least 18 months or later. Harper was 15-16 months. Both girls were way over the weight/height requirement by then, we just wanted to keep them rear facing as long as possible.

Connor we switched just before a year and Eric not until he was about 16 months.
