What was the best part of your labor?

When it was over?
In all seriousness, I was proud of myself that I delivered Ava with no drugs at all. After having Madelynn I was sure I wanted an epidural, but I dialated so fast with Ava that there wasn't time.

The baby at the end?
I don't think I can really give any other answer to that question. Maybe it was the feeling that the baby would be here SOON (or not so soon in my case). But, other than that, I can't remember much about labor that I liked. Oh, maybe it was the feeling when the epidural kicked in. Seriously, what is there to like about labor?

Yeah, the baby at the end was definitely the best. :aok: Not the puking, the contraction pain, the back labour, the lack of sleep over 34 hours - definitely NOT any of those things.

Overall my labor wasnt that bad except for the last hour. The only part I didnt like was when they made me walk around to try to dialate some more because there was just too much pressure.

I would have to say three healthy babies at the end too. Each labor experience was different from the other and if I had to pick one to be the best it would be Victoria's. Alex's was too fast (the doctor wasn't ready for him), too painful, and I tore really bad. I got an epidural with Lauren and it bottomed out my blood pressure and swear I passed out because I can't recall about 2 hours from the time I got it and when she was born.

Really, knowing I'd have a teeny baby at the end. And finding out what sex it was!!!!!

I got to deliver Travis myself, as I was pushing I guided his head out and then pulled him out and onto my chest, I loved that.

Well other than the baby at the end, I loved the start of labour, the part when you are having contractions and you know they are the real thing, but they aren't too painful yet. That is so exciting! getting your bags together, calling people, the whole anticipation of what is about to happen :love1:

With Tylor..it was going into labor on my own, doing it all at the hospital but no drugs and then getting this tiny little guy at the end. Being 18 I was so proud of myself for handleing things the way I did.
With Alyssa I was induced..it was an awful labor and I was so upset but there still was nothing like them pick her up and saying "It's a girl" I a couldn't have cared one bit how my labor went with her once I had her in my arms!

This sounds weird, but I'll never forget the moment when Aaron's head popped out (and the ring of fire lessened :giggle: ) and his shoulders were on the way. I could still feel him kicking me inside, like he was trying to kick his way out. It was SO cool!

I guess since I had an epidural with both and there was no pain at this point, I'd say the sensation of the baby coming out. I know that sounds weird, but it's true.

How fast they were!! And of course holding them (after they were cleaned up. Savannah was the only one placed on me after she was born, the other two were wisked away due to complications)
gulp!

Ditto Hilary. I can't believe how great I felt after delivering Krishan drug-free. It was not my intent to go unmedicated, but that's the way it happened, and I can't believe I powered through it. And the second after he was born, I felt like I could just get up and keep on with my day.
ETA: After rereading, I have to ditto Alyssa as well. The moment(s) when DH told me the gender were the best and most cherished parts of both deliveries.

Nothing was good about my labor experience. I think the best moment was when the doctor suggested that I have a c section!

Ditto.
Find out (finally!) what Rory was was pretty cool! And holding them after...finally meeting this person after what seemed like forever.
(I did also really like how quick they both came!)

With Anna, I think it was the newness of the experience. To push a baby out for the first time, and see my own child for the first time... incredible.
With Jacob, I liked that I felt more in control. Also, the whole drug free thing made me feel so empowered. A real "I am woman, hear me roar" kind of feeling. And taking him home and starting life as a family right away was great too.

The epidural!!!
It was right after Katie was born that she was crying and the nurses were bringing her over to the bassinet, she squirmed like she was trying to see something, she looked straight at me and locked eyes on me as if to say, "I want to see the face of the voice I've heard for the last nine months."

I love that it was fast. Not scarily fast like I might have the baby in the car or something, but that there was no dawdling around laying there exhausting myself for 12 hours. My boss even wrote in the card she sent me afterwards "another task accomplished with your normal directness and gentle speed!"

After Aubrey was born they wisked her off me because they thought she had broken her collarbone when they placed her in the bassinet she turned her head and looked right at me, and I felt a rush of love. Then they told me she was a girl because in all the excitement no one said girl out loud. When they had her wrapped up and they placed her back on me she lifted her head and was trying to see me closer up I never wanted to let her go.

My labor sucked. The best part was when it was over. I'm trying a VBAC this time at a different hospital with a doula and a midwife. Hoping it goes better. :)

With Kaleb: Just it being over. It was a horrible experience from beginning to end.
With Jacob: It was an easy labor, and I get to just enjoy the experience (God bless good epidurals)
With Riley: Everyone ouble checking to make sure she was in fact a girl
With Owen: The look on David's face when I told him my water broke.

With Riley: Phil's reaction when she was born. His exact words: OH MY GOD, IT'S A GIRL! And of course I didn't believe him.
With Jeremy: Only having to push one time. Sure beats an hour and 44 minutes of pushing with Riley!
