IRL, do you think that most people you come in contact with find you friendly and nice? Or do you find yourself in the middle of conflict quite often?

I think most people like me.

Most people probably think I am a snob because I'm shy.

I think most people like me, sometimes I can be kind of quiet so, like Hilary, they might think I'm snobby. I generally try to avoid conflict unless it is in regards to something I have strong feelings toward.

I think I am liked to but again I am too shy. Like Michal, I try to stay away from conflict. I also tend to go one extreme to the other in that I will remain quiet or get nervous and ramble on without making much sense.

Generally yes. Once I had to do this thing for my interpersonal communications class in college that had us write 'notes' to other people about what they thought of us. I had 4 people say, "You are someone who always seems to have it all together, and I am intimidated by that so I don't talk to you". Hmm. I am *so* not all together!

Amazingly everyone likes me  I am in sales and am voice to voice over the phone then hopefully face to face with strangers afterwards and I've gotten complements (and two job offers!) on my ability to fit in to different environments.

Everyone at work thought I was a snob for atleast 2 months 'cause I was so shy but now my nickname is beotch..and I answer when called that  Yeah I think most people do like me though, I'm not as shy as I used to be I figure what's the worst that can happen?

Probably not. :shuffle: I don't instigate conversations and pretty much keep to myself. So people probably think that I'm a loner. :dunno:

Generally they do.
There's a mum at school who always ignores me.At first I thought she was just wierd and did it to everyone but she told another friend that she doesn't like me.:dunno: I've never had anything to do with her so I don't know what she is basing it on. Her kid is a little shit though so I'm happy not to socialise with them!

I am going to say that I think "most" do, but I know that some don't. But I am ok with that cause I don't like everyone either

I hope so, I'm not shy at all and usually have a big smile and a hello for people.

I've got the shy=snob thing going AND I'm very sarcastic which some people don't quite get :shuffle:

I'd like to think that generally, most people like me. I'm sure there are some that don't, though. In those cases, the feeling is probably mutual.

Generally I think they don't dislike me, but like others I'm shy so they can't really know me. I kinda get forgotten but I think I'm (most of the time) nice and pleasant.

At first, no, I don't think they like me. I can be quiet at first and I'm told when I'm not smiling I look like a bitch and I'm not one to go around smiling all the time. I'm also pretty sarcastic and think I rub people the wrong way sometimes.
ETA: Once people get to know me, they do like me, it's just getting past that initial shyness for me. :)

I'm just going to quote Jenn here and say this is me. I'm super sarcastic so some people just don't know how to take me

I think most people like me. I am not shy at all. I smile and say hi to strangers when I'm out and about running errands. I initiate small talk while standing in line etc.

I try to be a likeable person but I can be very talkative when nervous and well..that tends to be the case around new people. I know I can be overbearing and I honestly speak my mind a lot and well that can get me into trouble. I have a fair amount of friends and I make friends easily so that helps.

I usually think they do while I'm talking to someone, but then after I leave, I think they don't. Can you say insecure?

I'd say generally yes, both personally and professionally I'm well-enough liked. Live several of you, I don't like a lot of people myself, so I'm sure some people don't like me either. WTFE! :awink:
There is this one mom who has twins in Aidan's class that Aidan really likes, and I've tried to initiate play dates for the kids via email. She's nice enough to me in person but she never follows up to trying to schedule something for the kids and I get a feeling she just doesn't like me. That bothers me. :dunno:

I'd say people who know me/work with me do, except for people who really hate swearing. They fucking hate me. Or at least, they think I'm a disgusting WT pig. Which is true.
People who don't know me well likely just think I'm a spaz. And sometimes if I'm around someone I don't know well who makes me feel nervous I overcompensate and crack numerous ignorant jokes, thus making them think I am a whack job.
Otherwise I get along OK with most people.

Sometimes I get intimidated and when that happens, I say the most ridiculous things ever. So people who meet me in that situation think I'm an idiot. Which would be most of the people I ever met in England because there I always worried about the "right" thing to say.
But otherwise I'm really outgoing so normally I think people like me. When I moved from Kentucky, my MOMS Club, neighborhood, and school friends all had big goodbye parties for me and made me feel like I would be so missed. Either that or they were very happy to see me go. :)

:hehe: just kidding, stacey.
generally, i'd like to think so. but i know not everyone does, and well, that's life. i don't like everyone.
i've been told that i can come across bitchy because i am shy (but this is from my husband). i try to put on my game face and be a big girl most of the time. i've also been told by one of my close friends that she didn't like me at first b/c she was intimidated by me...she thought i had it all together. :lol2: now that is funny.

At times, I've tried to shove the words back in and correct myself mid-sentence... and yeah, that makes me sound even more idiotic.

I have no idea. I'm not shy and I'll talk to pretty much anyone about anything, but there are tons of people I don't like, so maybe they don't like me either. I think of myself very much as what you see is what you get, and I don't really like people who are pretentious or into image, and I'd imagine they don't like me either. I tend to like down to earth people and I like to think they like me as well.

I'm in sales so if people don't like me, I'm screwed.
I am very social, probably to a fault, so I want people to like me and I want to like them. Although if you don't, I'm cool with that too.

I'd say this is me as well. I like people who are real and not put on. I think most people like me, too. :) I think of myself very much as what you see is what you get, and I don't really like people who are pretentious or into image, and I'd imagine they don't like me either. Speaking of putting your foot in your mouth, just recently, I congratulated an old crush's wife on their new baby, and I called the baby the wrong name. :duh: I felt like a freakin' moron.
