I'm sure it will just come naturally to us, but for right now I'm kinda worried about this. Has anyone co-slept with more than one kid before? Janelle will be 18-19 months when Kincaid is born. Right now she has a sidecarred crib, but most often sleeps in between dh and I.

I couldn't figure out a way to do it comfortably. I'm sure others have though.

I'm planning on having the baby in the crib that's sidecarred to the bed and have Ethan sleep in the middle since he won't sleep on it and that's where he usually is anyway. I'm hoping it works.

Stupid question here. I did not co-sleep with Mason until he was a bit older. What do you do about changing diapers in the middle of the night? I started co-sleeping when he was about 6-7 months or so and wasn't sleeping through the night, and by then he didn't need a change every time he woke up.

Honestly, since she didn't actually sleep in her co-sleeper we used that to keep her diapers, extra jammies, and all that good stuff and we just sat in bed and changed her in the co-sleeper.

We are thinking about using the sidecarred crib for Caid as well...but we are afraid that even though she doesn't sleep in it she will still think of it as Caid stealing her bed...so we are also considering getting a second crib to sidecar...

What about taking her crib off the bed (since she doesn't use it) and putting the co-sleeper back on. :dunno: Just tossing out an idea...

We co-sleep with two kids and it's no problem. It's wonderful, actually. :) Before Ciaran was born we had a queen size bed and Brigit slept between me and DH. The first 2 months of Ciaran's life he and I slept together on the hideabed in the living room while DH and Brigit slept together in the bedroom. We did this because Ciaran was up nursing and getting his diaper changed so often, and we didn't want him waking Brigit up.

When we all started sleeping in the bed together, we quickly discovered a queen bed was just too small, so we invested in a king size. For the next two months Brigit still slept between me and DH, and Ciaran slept next to me (between me and the edge of the bed.) Once he started rolling over, we moved him to the middle next to Brigit. It's so sweet to see the two of them snuggling together while they sleep.

As for diaper changes, DH and I always took turns getting up with Ciaran and taking him into the kids' room where the changing table is.
